Harvey Cline

CONCORD —Harvey Alexander Cline, 89, formerly of Davidson Highway, died Tuesday (Dec. 4, 2001) at Brian Center.

Lady’s Funeral Home, Kannapolis, is in charge.

 

Ray Deal

KANNAPOLIS — The funeral will be Friday for Ray Deal, 84, 807 E. 22nd St., who died Tuesday (Dec. 4, 2001) at NorthEast Medical Center,Concord, after two weeks of serious illness.

Born Dec. 29, 1916, in Alexander County, Mr. Deal was a son of the late Julius Porter and Amanda Bogle Deal. He retired in 1980 from Cannon Mills Co. Plant 1 shipping department after many years.

A member of North Kannapolis Baptist Church, he was church treasurer and a member of the Baptist Men. He was active in various phases of church activities.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a member of the VFWPoston-Perkins Post 8989.

His first wife, Della Combs Deal, preceded him in death.

Survivors include wife Frances Young Deal, as well as in-laws and nieces.

Services: 2 p.m. Friday, North Kannapolis Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. David Myers and the Rev.Coy Privette. Burial,Carolina Memorial Park. Military rites by DAVChapter 27.

Visitation: 7-9 p.m. Thursday, Whitley’s Funeral Home. At other times the family will be at the home on East 22nd Street.

Edna Woodie Eagle

Edna Woodie Eagle, 89, Salisbury Lutheran Nursing Home, died Tuesday (Dec. 4, 2001) at Rowan Regional Medical Center.

Linn-Honeycutt Funeral Home, Landis, is in charge.

 

Jeanie Snyder Eudy

KANNAPOLIS — The funeral will be Thursday for Jeanie Snyder Eudy, 95, 2002 Katherine Ave., who died Tuesday (Dec. 4, 2001) at NorthEast Medical Center, Concord, after a brief illness.

Born Sept. 24, 1906, in Union County, Mrs. Eudy was a daughter of the late Edmond Rufus and Susan Baucom Snyder. She retired from Cannon Mills Co. Plant 1 sheet department after 55 years. She was a Protestant.

Survivors include daughter Bonny Dixon, Kannapolis; son Bob Eudy, Davidson; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Services: 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Whitley’s Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. Wes Judy. Burial, Union Baptist Church cemetery,Monroe.

Visitation: 7-8:30 tonight at the funeral home. At other times the family will be at the home of son Bob Eudy, 11410 TerrillRidge Drive, Davidson.

Stewart Kennedy

LEXINGTON — James Stewart Kennedy, 40, of Pickett Road, died Monday (Dec. 3, 2001) in Spencer.

Born March 29, 1961, in Davidson County, Mr. Kennedy was the son of the late James Robert and Jeanette McNeill Kennedy.

He was employed by the Town of Spencer for 10 years.

Survivors include wife Teresa Brewer Kennedy; sons James Stewart Kennedy II and Christopher Ryan Kennedy, both of Spencer; stepdaughter April Dawn Burnette, of the home; brother John F. Kennedy,Thomasville; and sister Janet Kennedy, Churchland.

Services: 2 p.m. Friday, Davidson Funeral Home chapel, conducted by the Rev. Roger Lackey. Burial, Lexington City Cemetery.

Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. At other times the family will be at the home on Pickett Road.

 

Hazel Davis Leonard

GOLD HILL — Hazel Davis Leonard, 81, Gold Hill, died Tuesday (Dec. 4, 2001) at Autumn Care of Salisbury.

Powles Funeral Home, Rockwell, is in charge.

 

Frances Michael

LEXINGTON — Frances Louise Fritts Michael, 76, of Golden Age and formerly of Highway 150 South, died Tuesday (Dec. 4, 2001) at the nursing center after several years of declining health.

Services: 11 a.m.Thursday, DavidsonFuneral Home chapel. Burial, Bethel Cemetery.

Visitation: 6-8 tonight at the funeral home.

Zella Holt Morris

ALBEMARLE — Zella Holt Morris, 80, 2105 Hwy. 52 N., died Monday (Dec. 3, 2001) at Lake Norman Regional Medical Center, Mooresville.

Services: 2 p.m. Thursday, Prospect Baptist Church. The body will be placed in the church at 1:30. Burial, church cemetery.
