Jessie E. Bradford
CLEVELAND —The funeral will be Wednesday for Jessie Mae Edwards Bradford, 73, Cleveland, who died Sunday (Dec. 2, 2001) at Kate B.Reynolds Hospice Home, Winston-Salem, after a year of declining health and a month of serious illness.
Born Sept. 30, 1928, in Yancey County, Mrs. Bradford, a daughter of the late Martin and Pansy Wilson Edwards, was educated in the Yancey County schools. A homemaker, she retired from Celanese, now
KoSa.
She was a charter member of Morning Star Baptist Church, Cleveland.
A son, Harry Bradford, died in April 1998.
Survivors include her husband, Theo Bradford, whom she married April 14, 1944; other sons Larry Bradford, Mount Ulla, and Johnny Bradford, Mocksville; daughters Kay McCurry, Susan Zimmerman and Glenda Spainhour, all of Cleveland, and Judy Bennett, Rockwell; brothers J.C. Edwards, Burnsville, and Howard, Charlie and George Edwards, all of Cleveland; sisters Martha Adkins, Marion, Louise Smith, Greensboro, and Geraldine Wilson, Farmington, Va.; 15 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Services: 10 a.m. Wednesday, Lyerly Funeral Home chapel, conducted by the Rev. Ronald Young, pastor, Morning Star Baptist Church. Burial, 3 p.m. Wednesday, Bradford Family Cemetery, Burnsville.
Visitation: 7-8:30 tonight at the funeral home. At other times the family will be at their respective homes.

LEXINGTON — Jessica Marie Hubler, 10, and Andrew “Andy” Roland Hubler, 13, Crestwood Circle, died Saturday (Dec. 1, 2001) from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
The youths are the children of Brady David Hubler, Colorado, and Rhonda Sue and Wesley Blake Fraley, of the home.

Shelby S. Hughes
KANNAPOLIS —Shelby Jean Sexton Hughes, 62, 1701 Daniel St., died Monday (Dec. 3, 2001) at NorthEast Medical Center, Concord, after two years of declining health and a week of serious illness.
Born April 15, 1939, in Cabarrus County, Mrs. Hughes was a daughter of the late Floyd and Marie Freeze Sexton. She was employed in the winding room at Linn Mills Corp., Landis, for 29 years and at Ervin Mills, Concord, for 13 years.
She was a member of Charity Baptist Church.
Survivors include husband Cecil C. Hughes; sons Dennis, Jeff and Eric Hughes, all of Kannapolis; daughters Debra Hale and Cindy Sloop, both of Kannapolis; brothers Glen Sexton, Mooresville, Wayne Sexton, Concord, and James Sexton, Kannapolis; sister Gladys Ervin, Kannapolis; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services: 2 p.m. Wednesday, Charity Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. R.J. Hammond. Burial,Carolina Memorial Park.

Velma B. Kimball
KANNAPOLIS — Velma Bennett Kimball, 88, formerly of Kannapolis, died Sunday (Dec. 2, 2001) at Salisbury Lutheran Nursing Home.
Born Oct. 29, 1913, in Rowan County, Mrs. Kimball was a daughter of the late Sloan Alexander and Ocie Shulenberger Overcash. She retired from Cannon Mills sewing room after 51 years and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
A lifelong member of the former Bethany Lutheran Church, now New Hope Lutheran Church, she was active in many phases of church work over the years. She was a former member of the choir, active in the Women of the Church and instrumental in leading programs and pageants at the church.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Roy Bennett, and her second husband, Ralph L. Kimball.
Survivors include stepdaughter Lynette Kimball Riley, Stephens City,Va.; and two step-grandchildren.
Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday, Whitley’s Funeral Home chapel, conducted by Dr. Larry Bost. Burial,Carolina Memorial Park.

Alice B. McCullough
Alice Luvinia Boyd McCullough, 78, 604 Willow Road, died Sunday (Dec. 2, 2001) at Rowan Regional Medical Center after several days of illness.
Born Jan. 23, 1923, in Lincolnton County, Mrs. McCullough, a daughter of the late Lester and Cora Longery Boyd, was educated in the Lincolnton County schools. She was employed by Cone Mills.
A member of Hall’s Chapel Primitive Baptist Church, she was president and organizer of the Unity Singers, and a member of A.C. Polk Singers, the Usher Board and the Gospel Chorus. She was also a member of Court of Calanthe 214.
Her husband, James McCullough, died in April 1984; a daughter Mary McCullough, died in September 1990; and a son, Jerry McCullough, died in December 1995.
Survivors include other sons Archie McCullough, Atlanta, Ga., and John McCullough Jr., Nashville,Tenn.; other daughters Lillian Brown, Atlanta,Ga., Tammy McCullough, Kannapolis, and Loretta and Betty Joe McCullough and Martha Dunlap, all of Salisbury; grandchildren reared in the home Betty “Toot” McCullough, Salisbury, and Kenneth McCullough, Salisbury; 20 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.
Services: 1 pm. Thursday, Hall’s ChapelPrimitive Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev.Richard Johnson.

Bobby Lee Moore
IOWA PARK, Texas — Bobby Lee Moore, 65, formerly of Wichita Falls, died Saturday (Dec. 1, 2001) in Iowa Park. He was a native of Rowan County, N.C.
He was a sergeant in the U.S. Army Paratroopers and a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association. A retired truck driver, he was formerly employed by Barbour Trucking Co.
Survivors include sons Trent Moore, Rockwell, N.C., Sam Moore, Griggsville, Ill., Patrick Moore, Salisbury, N.C., and Jimmy Moore, Landis, N.C.; daughter Karen Shuping, Salisbury, N.C.; sister Coleen Warren,Mount Holly, N.C.; and nine grandchildren.
