MOUNT PLEASANT — The funeral will be Saturday for Lucille Linker Bost, 74, 34897-A Banks Road, who died Thursday (Aug. 16, 2001) at her home.
Born Jan. 25, 1927, in Cabarrus County, Mrs. Bost was a daughter of the late Norman and Annie Bell Carter Linker. She retired as executive housekeeper from Five Oaks Nursing Center.

BADIN — William Gilmer Lemons Jr., 81, 5 Tallahassee St., died Wednesday (Aug. 15, 2001) at Britthaven of Albemarle.
Born Nov. 15, 1919, in Badin, Mr. Lemons, a son of the late William Gilmer and Fannie Morris Lemons, he was employed at Alcoa Aluminum for 43 years. He was a member of Badin United Methodist Church.

MOCKSVILLE — A memorial service will be held at a later date for Richard Marty Moore, 54, Milling Road, Glenn Apartments, who died Wednesday (Aug. 15, 2001) at his home.
Born Sept. 11, 1946, in Jennings, La., Mr. Moore, a son of the late Phoebe Boger and James Vernon Moore, was a former retail clerk. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War and attended Trinity Baptist Church.

Lona Wyatt Nash
KANNAPOLIS — Lona Wyatt Nash, 87, 601 Ford St., died Thursday (Aug. 16, 2001) at NorthEast Medical Center, Concord.
Born Oct. 29, 1913, in Ashe County, Mrs. Nash, a daughter of the late Alfred and Maggie Ball Wyatt, moved to Kannapolis in 1941. She was employed with Cannon Mills Co. Plant 1 towel sewing department for 32 years, until her retirement in 1974.
Her husband,Carl Eugene Nash, died April 21, 1974.
Survivors include daughter Verral Nash Roberts, Kannapolis; brother Walter Lee Wyatt, Kannapolis; sister Minnie Goodson,
Abingdon, Va.; and one grandson.

WINSTON-SALEM — Tommy Lee Rankin, 67, 418 W. 25th St., died Monday (Aug. 13, 2001) at his home.
Born Aug. 25, 1933, in Rowan County, Mr. Rankin was a son of the late Joseph Knox and Hilda Rankin Ramsey. He worked in the textile industry in New York and was a member of Mount Tabor Presbyterian Church.
His wife, Marie P. Rankin, is deceased.

Fern Kluttz Ward
The funeral will be Saturday for Cleo Fern Kluttz Ward, 71, Salisbury, who died Thursday (Aug. 16, 2001) at Rowan Regional Medical Center.
Born Jan. 31, 1930, in Rowan County, Mrs. Ward was a daughter of the late Walter “Pete” and Rosa Earnhardt
Kluttz. She was a 1948 graduate of Rockwell High School.
She was a homemaker and a lifelong member of Rock Grove United Methodist Church. On Aug. 12, the church held a celebration honoring her for teaching Sunday school for 50 years.
Her husband,James Franklin Ward, died Sept. 14, 1995.
