Joan Earnhardt
KANNAPOLIS — The funeral will be Saturday for Joan Adams Livingston Earnhardt, 79, 2117 Englewood St., who died Wednesday (Aug. 15, 2001) at NorthEast Medical Center, Concord, after a brief illness.
Born March 16, 1922, in Clearfield County,Pa., Mrs. Earnhardt, a daughter of the late Wilbur Ross and Martha Adams Livingston, graduated from nurses school in Pennsylvania. During World War II, she served as a U.S. Army nurse in France.
An area resident since 1947, she was a homemaker and a nurse at Salisbury Lutheran Home for 10 years. She retired from nursing in 1982.
She was a member of New Hope Lutheran Church and a former member of Center Grove Lutheran Church, where she was active in the choir and with the Girl Scouts.
Survivors include husband Ralph H. Earnhardt; daughters Erna E. Brown and Marnie E. Messenger, both of Kannapolis; son Chris L. Earnhardt, Salisbury; brother Wilbur B. Livingston, State College, Pa.; stepson Ralph H. Earnhardt Jr., Richmond, Va.; and six grandchildren.
Services: 11 a.m. Saturday, New Hope Lutheran Church, conducted by the Rev. Dr. Larry Bost. Burial, Carolina Memorial Park.

Ruth H. Hudson
CHINA GROVE — The funeral will be Friday for Ruth Haywood Hudson, 81, 330 Rose Ave., who died Wednesday (Aug. 15, 2001) at Rowan Regional Medical Center, Salisbury.
Born Feb. 3, 1920, in Montgomery County, Mrs. Hudson, a daughter of the late Seba Jones and Lola Greene Haywood, was educated at Mount Gilead High School.
She retired from China Grove Cotton Mill and was a member of First Baptist Church.
Her husband, James Franklin Hudson, died Jan. 8, 2001.
Survivors include son Donald Harry Hudson, Fort Wright, Ky.; daughter Patsy Hudson Parnell, Salisbury; and sisters Lelola Thompson and Louise Stutts, both of Mount Gilead.

Rayford Misenheimer
FAITH — Rayford Grayson Misenheimer, 74, Faith, died Wednesday (Aug. 15, 2001) at Rowan Regional Medical Center, Salisbury.
Born June 29, 1927, in Guilford County, Mr. Misenheimer, a son of the late Joseph Ray and Roxanna Jones Misenheimer, was educated in the High Point schools. He retired as owner/operator of Ray’s Body Shop.
A member of Faith Lutheran Church and Faith American Legion Post 327, he served three years in the Navy Air Transport Service.
Survivors include wife Madge Lingle Misenheimer, whom he married July 26, 1948; daughters Pam M. Ribelin, Salisbury, and Anne M. Brown, Charlotte; brother Joe Misenheimer, High Point; sister Sylvia M. Simmons, Seagrove; and four grandchildren.
Services: 2 p.m. Friday, Faith Lutheran Church, conducted by the Rev. Clarence E. Sifford, interim pastor. Burial, church cemetery.

William Morgan III
William Mangum Morgan III, 81, 810 S. Main St., died Wednesday (Aug. 15, 2001) at Rowan Regional Medical Center.
Born Feb. 6, 1920, in Fayetteville, Mr. Morgan was a son of the late William Mangum and Mary Campbell Morgan. He graduated from the Goldsboro schools and attended North Carolina State University, Raleigh.
A disabled American veteran, he served with the U.S. Army Air Corp during World War II.
Survivors include brother Charles R. Morgan, Sanford; and sister Anne Morgan Kerr, Topsail Beach.
Services: Private graveside services will be held on Friday at the U.S. National Cemetery,Government Road, Salisbury. VA Chaplain Brit Baldwin will officiate. Military rites will be conducted by Rowan Veterans Council.

Tommy Lee Rankin
WINSTON-SALEM — Tommy Lee Rankin, 67, 418 W. 25th St., died Monday (Aug. 13, 2001) at his home.
Born Aug. 25, 1933, in Rowan County, Mr. Rankin was a son of the late Joseph Knox and Hilda Rankin Ramsey. He worked in the textile industry in New York and was a member of Mount Tabor Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include wife Marie P. Rankin; and brothers James and Nathaniel Ramsey, both of Troutman, Kent Ramsey, Statesville, and Chris Robertson, Winston-Salem.

Rosalie H. Yow
KANNAPOLIS — Rosalie Kathryn Honeycutt Yow, 81, 1216 Desota Ave., died Tuesday (Aug. 14, 2001) at NorthEast Medical Center, Concord.
Born Dec. 8, 1919, in Mecklenburg County, Mrs. Yow was a daughter of the late Jasper C. and Mary Williams Honeycutt. She retired from Cannon Mills Plant 1 No. 7 quiller room.
A charter member of Royal Oaks United Methodist Church, she was active with the youth of the church in her earlier years.
Her husband, Henry Burton Yow, died Aug. 16, 1978. Two children, Larry Yow and Kathy Harmon, also preceded her in death.
Survivors include children Jane Mesimer, Linda Bunton Charlie Yow and Monty Yow, all of Kannapolis, Donnie Yow, China Grove, and Mrs. Marty Wensil, Iron Station; 25 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
Services: 2 p.m. Friday, Royal Oaks United Methodist Church, conducted by the Rev. C. Brooks Gibson. Burial, Carolina Memorial Park.
