Doris ‘Dot’ Albea
MOORESVILLE—Doris “Dot” Elledge Albea, 84, formerly of 121 East Memorial Highway, Harmony, and of Eden Gardens of Mooresville, died Friday (Aug. 3, 2001) at Genesis Elder Center following a period of declining health.
Services: A graveside service will be conducted 10 a.m. Monday at Harmony Cemetery by the Rev. Nick Rochester and the Rev. Donnie Durham.
Memorials: Harmony United Methodist Church, 136 West Memorial Highway, Harmony, NC 28634.
The body will remain at Reavis Funeral Home in Statesville until the funeral hour.
Annie Mae Hedrick
SPENCER — Annie Mae Shinn Hedrick, 87, Spencer, died Saturday (Aug. 4, 2001) at Magnolia Gardens after a period of declining health.
Born Sept. 10, 1913. in Iredell County, she was the daughter of the late Daniel Shinn and Hattie Poston Shinn Cranfield.
She was educated in the Iredell County schools. A homemaker, she was a member of Beulahland Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie B. Hedrick; a son, Ralph Willie Hedrick; and two daughters, Mary Ann Benton and Flossie Mae Kelley Eller.
Survivors include sons Charles Jerry Hedrick, Salisbury, Adam Odell Hedrick, Linwood, Lester B. Hedrick, Denton, Tommy Hedrick and Clyde Matheson, both of Spencer; stepson William Bailey Kelley, Concord; eight grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
Services: 3 p.m. Monday, graveside service at Brookhill Memorial Gardens, Rockwell, conducted by the Rev. James Hall, pastor of Bread of Life Church of God.
Visitation: 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Monday at Lyerly Funeral Home.
Other times, the family will be at the residence of son Charles Jerry Hedrick.
John Krug
John Krug, 52, Salisbury, died Saturday (Aug. 4, 2001) at Brightmoor Nursing Center.
Mr. Krug’s body will be cremated and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
Lyerly Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Juanita G. Miller
KANNAPOLIS — Juanita Gaston Miller, 71, 322 E. 20th St., died Saturday (Aug. 4, 2001) at her residence after ten months of declining health and four weeks of serious illness.
Born April 1, 1930, in Gaston County, Mrs. Miller was the daughter of the late John Lee and Mary Josephine Burch Gaston.
She was retired from Fieldcrest Cannon Plant No. 6 after 24 years of employment. She was a member of Rogers Park Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by a son, Jody Dwayne Miller, in 1981.
Survivors include daughters Pamela Dean Miller, Concord and Thesa Vannoy Whitaker, Kannapolis; and five grandchildren.
Services: 4 p.m. today at Lady’s Funeral Home Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Jasen Kirkman and Dr.Rick Felts. Burial will be at Carolina Memorial Park.
Visitation: 2 to 4 p.m. today at Lady’s Funeral Home.

‘Fuz’ Weddington Sr.
Glenn Haywood “Fuz” Weddington Sr., 76, Salisbury, died Friday (Aug. 3, 2001) at Rowan Regional Medical Center after an extended illness.
Born Feb. 4, 1925, in Rowan County, Mr. Weddington was the son of the late Edward Franklin and Mary Ross Weddington. He was educated in the Salisbury City Schools and attended Catawba College.
He was employed by N.C. Finishing Co. for 41 years, before he retired in 1987 as bleach house general foreman.
Mr. Weddington was a veteran of World War II, serving with the U.S. Army in Europe, where he participated in the invasion of Normandy on D-Day.
He was a longtime member of Yadkin United Methodist Church, where he had served as a Sunday school teacher, chairman of the finance committee and church treasurer. He served as a church trustee until he became ill.
He was former scoutmaster of Troop 347 in Yadkin and former member of the Yadkin Lion’s Club and the Harold B. Jarrett American Legion Post.
He is survived by his wife, Jewel Cope Weddington, whom he married June 15, 1946.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by sons Chip Weddington, Statesville, and Ed Weddington, Emerald Isle; daughter Glenda Pritchard, Mayodan; sister Jean Weddington Dunham, Salisbury; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Services: Graveside service, 11 a.m. Monday at Salisbury National Cemetery, conducted by the Rev. Lynn Ogburn, pastor of Yadkin United Methodist Church.
Visitation: 7 to 8:30 tonight at Lyerly Funeral Home. Other times, the family will be at the residence.
