Salisbury police arrested a woman Monday after she attempted to elude them by hiding in an air-conditioning duct in her home.
Deputies went to the residence of Elisha Black Hubbard, 25, of 815 Peach Orchard Road, to serve warrants for failure to pay child support. As they approached the house, they looked through the window and saw a woman exit the living room into the hallway.
When they knocked on the door, another resident, Wayne Calvin Foster, 53, answered. He told them he had not seen Hubbard.
But Foster gave deputies permission to search the house, and they found Hubbard hiding in an air-conditioning duct in the hallway. She had removed the filter so that she could fit inside.
Deputies charged Hubbard with two counts of failure to pay child support and one count of resisting, obstructing and delaying an officer. Upon paying $1,212.48, she was released.
Foster was cited with resisting, obstructing and delaying an officer.
