The golf notebook ...

Warren “Jake” Holt of Spencer has shot his age often in the past, but he accomplished the feat for the first time since turning 80 when he played last week at McCanless Golf Club.

Holt made two birdies while shooting an 80 on the par-70 McCanless course.

Holt, who works part-time in the McCanless pro shop, was playing with Charles Gillespie, Gary Wortman and Lou Manning.
