Broad Street, East Spencer, died Friday (Sept. 15) at Presbyterian Hospital,
Charlotte.

Floyd H. ‘Bud’ Price
KANNAPOLIS —Floyd H. “Bud”
Price, 96, 301 S. Ridge Ave., died Friday (Sept. 15, 2000) after a recent
illness.
Born Jan. 10, 1904, in York
County, S.C., to the late James P. and Margaret Wright Price, he moved to
Kannapolis at age 4. He was employed through the years as a salesman with
various businesses. He retired in 1969 as a life insurance agent. He was a
member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Kannapolis and was a member of the
Tuttle Bible class. Price was a life-long member of the Lone Scouts
organization.
He was preceded in death by his
wife Marie Chipley Price, who died Nov. 30, 1994. Price was also preceded in
death by daughter Iris Newman, who died Nov. 17, 1995.
Survivors include daughter Gay
Whiteside of Charlotte, brother Elby Price of Landis, four grandchildren and
three great-grandchildren.
Service: 2 p.m. Sunday at
Whitley’s Funeral Home Chapel, led by the Rev. Don Shurman and Sara Weaver.
Interment at Carolina Memorial Park.
Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Saturday at
the funeral home.

Frances Newsom Spry
KANNAPOLIS —Frances Isabell
Newsom Spry, 90, 803 Wright Ave., died Friday (Sept. 15, 2000) at Five Oaks
Nursing Center.
Born Aug. 20, 1910, in Union
County to the late Issac Fulton and Fronnie Hill Newsom, she was a member of
Temple Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her
husband, Robert Sanford Spry, on March 19, 1983.
Survivors include daughters
Frances Spry Setzer, Kannapolis, and Margie Spry Howard, Oakboro; sons Billy
Spry, Landis, Jack W. Spry, Sr., Kannapolis; brother Robert Lee Newsom, Monroe;
15 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
Service: 2:30 p.m. Sunday,
Lady’s Funeral Home Chapel, led by the Rev. Kenneth Martin and the Rev. Tim
Lowry. Burial, Carolina Memorial Park.
Visitation: 1-2:30 p.m. Sunday at
the funeral home.
