They did it again.
The children in First United Methodist Preschool made what is becoming an annual trek to the Salisbury Post with their donation for the Christmas Happiness Fund on Monday.
This year, though, they transported the heavy coins in shopping carts. They were afraid the weight would break the wagon they used last year, according to Lugene Cox, a teacher.
In their innocence, they know how important it is to be remembered with even a simple gift on Christmas morning. Their donation tops today’s list. The fund total is growing but has a long way to go in a short time to make sure Santa forgets no one.
Bring contributions to the Salisbury Post, 131 W. Innes St., between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. weekdays or mail them to The Salisbury Post Christmas Happiness Fund, P.O. Box 4639, Salisbury, N.C. 28145-4639. Make checks payable to the Christmas Happiness Fund.
