Wednesday (Nov. 22, 2000) at Lake Norman Regional Medical Center.

Frances Potts White
Frances Potts White, 86, Salisbury, died Thursday
(Nov. 23, 2000) at The Laurels of Salisbury.
Born Dec. 14, 1913, in Davie County, Mrs. White
was a daughter of the late Maggie Hinkle and Henry Potts. She was retired from
Cannon Mills Plant 1, wash cloth department and was a Baptist.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur
White, who died Oct. 13, 1991, and by sons Donald Richard White and Larry
Douglas White.
Survivors include two grandchildren and six
great-grandchildren.
Services: 2 p.m. Saturday, Phaniels Baptist
Church, Rockwell, conducted by the Rev. Dr. Michael Taylor, pastor. Burial,
church cemetery.
Visitation: 1:30-2 p.m. Saturday at the church.

Betty Moose Hinson
CONCORD — Betty Moose Hinson, 62, 3533 Travis
Lane, died Wednesday (Nov. 22, 2000) on arrival at NorthEast Medical Center.
Born July 2, 1938, in Cabarrus County, Mrs.
Hinson was a daughter of the late Henry P. and Lizzie Boger Moose. A lifetime
resident of the area, she had been employed by Cannon Mills Co. and later worked
as an assistant at a local nursing center.
Survivors include son Mitchell R. Hinson Jr.,
Kannapolis; daughters Annette Hinson and Jeanette Cochran, both of Kannapolis,
and Hope Beach, Concord; brothers Tom, Hugh “Whitey” and Clarence “Bo”
Moose, all of Concord; sisters Margaret Barbee, Stanfield, and Bertha Miller,
Rockwell; and five grandchildren.
Services: A memorial service will be held at a
later date. Burial, Sunset Cemetery, Kannapolis.

Doris Barnhardt Rainwater
KANNAPOLIS — Doris Barnhardt Rainwater, 75, 101
Westview St., died Wednesday (Nov. 22, 2000) at her home.
Born Jan. 27, 1925, in Rowan County, Mrs.
Rainwater was a daughter of the late Annie Sloop and John M. Barnhardt. A
graduate of China Grove High School, she had been employed by Cannon Mills in
the No. 1 and No. 5 weave rooms.
She was a member of Mount Moriah Lutheran Church,
China Grove, and the Happy Age Seniors.
Survivors include son Sherman Rainwater, China
Grove; daughter Brenda Hart, Kannapolis; brothers Marvin H. Barnhardt, China
Grove, and Linn Barnhardt, Kannapolis; sister Pauline B. Jones, Kannapolis; and
two grandchildren.

Madeleine H. Wagoner
Madeleine Hagler Wagoner, 81, 820 Klumac Road,
died Wednesday (Nov. 22, 2000) at the Lutheran Home at Trinity Oaks.
Born Aug. 10, 1919, in Rowan County, Mrs. Wagoner
was a daughter of the late Annie Lee Blackwelder and Jackson Doran Hagler. She
was educated in Rowan County Schools and retired from Cannon Mills Plant 7. She
was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond
Hurley Wagoner, who died in 1980.
Survivors include sons Randy Wagoner, Granite
Quarry, and Raymond Wagoner Jr., Salisbury; brother Dean Hagler, California;
sisters Betty Weaver, China Grove, Helen Brown, Rockwell, and Stella Mae
“Sis” Rusher, Salisbury; two grandchildren; and three stepgrandchildren.

John Edward White
John Edward White, 62, 507 E. Division St., died
Monday (Nov. 20, 2000) at Rowan Regional Medical Center.
Born Oct. 24, 1938, in Cabarrus County, Mr. White
was a son of the late John A. and Elizabeth Benson White. He was a self-employed
carpenter and member of Bethel AMEZion Church, where he had formerly been a
member of the steward board.
He was preceded in death by son Darrell White.
Survivors include sons Kelly White, Augusta, Ga.,
Edward Drye, Kannapolis, C. Gregory Smotherson, Concord, and John Lewis,
California; daughter Jacquelyn H. Johnson, Salisbury; stepdaughter Darlene
Russell, Kannapolis; sisters Barbara Jean Reid, Janice W. Barnes and Grace
McNeal, all of Kannapolis; brothers Ronald White, Kannapolis, and Dwayne White,
Lithonia, Ga.; nine grandchildren; and companion, Erma Jefferies, Salisbury.
Services: 2 p.m. today, Bethel AME Zion Church,
conducted by the Rev. Michael J. Massey. Burial, church cemetery.
