Floyd Ray Beaver
Floyd Ray Beaver, 76, 3380 Highway 152 East, died
Friday (Nov. 17, 2000) at the Lutheran Nursing Home of Salisbury.
Born June 26, 1924, in Rowan County, Mr. Beaver
was the son of the late Nannie Elizabeth Park and John Eliza Beaver. He was
educated in Rowan County schools.
Mr. Beaver retired from Cannon Mills and was a TV
repairman. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church.
Survivors include wife Mary Ruth Taylor Beaver;
brother Claude Beaver, Rockwell; and sisters Ethel Russ, Salisbury, and Eula Mae
Sides and Nellie Payne, both of China Grove.
Services: 3 p.m. Sunday, Bethel Baptist Church,
conducted by the Rev. James Melton, pastor of Bethel Baptist Church, and the
Rev. Alan Misenheimer, pastor of Grace Bible Church. Burial, Bethel Baptist
Church cemetery.

Ercis Elmer Efird
ALBEMARLE — Ercis Elmer Efird, 96, 17161-B St.
Martin Road, died Thursday (Nov. 16, 2000) at Stanly Memorial Hospital.
Born Oct. 22, 1904, in Stanly County, Miss Efird
was the daughter of the late Lizzie Bost and Daniel Lindsey Efird.
She was a homemaker and a member of St. Martin
Lutheran Church.
She is survived by a number of nieces and
nephews.
Services: 2 p.m. Sunday, St. Martin Lutheran
Church, conducted by the Rev. Stanley Leas. Burial, church cemetery.
Visitation: 7-9 p.m. Saturday at Hartsell Funeral

Raymond Paul Fitzpatrick
ROCKWELL — Raymond Paul Fitzpatrick, 72, 2140
Phaniels Church Road, died Thursday (Nov. 16, 2000) at his home.
Born Feb. 15, 1928, in Neptune, N.J., Mr.
Fitzpatrick was the son of the late Marie Shallcross and James Fitzpatrick. A
veteran of the U.S. Air Force, he retired from Marlboro State Hospital in
Marlboro, N.J. He was a member of Bible Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors include wife Geraldine Fitzpatrick.

ALBEMARLE — Edna Easley McDowell, 88, 26057
Mulberry Road, died Friday (Nov. 17, 2000) at Stanly Manor.
Born March 1, 1912, in Cabarrus County, Mrs.
McDowell was a daughter of the late Zula Hathcock and Zeb Easley. She was a
retired winder at Wiscassett Mills and was a member of Grace Baptist Church and
the WMU.
She was preceded in death by husband Albert
Harrison McDowell.
Survivors include daughter Jane M. Morris of
Albemarle; brother Melvin Easley of Brooksville, Fla.; sisters Mildred White,
Wytheville, Va., Lynn Harris, Churchville, Penn., Ramelle McCullough, Macon,
Ga., Bobbie Hunsucker, Greensboro, Kay Henley, Lakeland, Fla., and Ruby Petrilla,
Huntersville; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Elsie Rose Skorpik
TABOR, S.D. — Elsie Rose Skorpik, 84, died
Friday (Nov. 17, 2000) at St. Michael’s Nursing home.
Born March 28, 1916, in Bon Homme County, S.D.,
Mrs. Skorpik was the daughter of the late Adolph and Rose Uherka Slama.
She is preceded in death by husband Charles
Skorpik; sisters Emma Verba and Albina Hovorka; and a grandson.
Survivors include daughter Sheryl Johnson of
Salisbury, N.C.; sons Rodney and Randy Skorpik, both of Tyndall, S.D.; brothers
Adolph Slama of Rapid City, Louis and Edward Slama, both of Tyndall, and Laddie
Slama of Tabor; sisters Viola Pesek, Tyndall, and Evelyn Stibral, Yankton; four
grandchildren; and three stepgrandchildren.

Inez Wooley Snider
BURLINGTON — Inez Wooley Snider, 80, formerly
of Bland Boulevard, died Friday (Nov. 17, 2000) at the Presbyterian Home of
Hawfields after lengthy illness.
Born in Porterdale, Ga., Mrs. Snider was the
daughter of the late Henry Harmer and Addie Roberson Wooley.
She retired from Isley Knitting and was a member
of Piedmont Presbyterian Church.
Mrs. Snider is preceded in death by her husband
Luther Alexander Snider.
Survivors include daughter Delores Cobb,
Burlington; son Paul A. Snider, Clearwater, Fla.; sister Mrs. Theo Swaringen,
Salisbury; brother W.H. “Bud” Wooley, Salisbury; four grandchildren; two
great-grandchildren; and one stepgreat-grandchild.
