Frederick Bill Cornwright

BADIN —Frederick William “Bill” Cornwright Jr., 57, 1 Cheoah St., died Saturday (Nov. 11, 2000) at Dosher Memorial Hospital .

Born on April 19, 1943, in Baltimore, he was a son of the late Frederick William and Ella Katherine Young Cornwright. He had retired as an electrical design engineer with American Circuit Breaker.

Mr. Cornwright was a 1961 graduate of Badin High School and a 1975 graduate of UNC-Charlotte, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering technology. He was a Vietnam War veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was a member of Badin United Methodist Church.

Survivors include wife Ellen Sue Flake Cornwright; a son, William Brett Cornwright, Raleigh; and a daughter,Stacey Parrish, Charlotte.

Services: 11 a.m. Monday, Badin United Methodist Church, conducted by the Rev. Bob Romanello, the Rev. Kent Little and the Rev. Wes Judy. Burial, Fairview Memorial Park, Albemarle, with military rites by the Albemarle-Stanly County DAV.

Visitation: 7 to 9 p.m. today at Hartsell Funeral Home, Albemarle; otherwise, the family will be at the residence.

Memorials: Badin United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 746, Badin, NC 28009-0746, or VFW, 119 Anderson Road, Albemarle, NC.

 

Rudy Brian McNeill

Rudy Brian McNeill, 27, 1150 Airport Road, died Saturday (Nov. 11, 2000) at Rowan Regional Medical Center.

Linn-Honeycutt Funeral Home of China Grove is in charge.

 

 

Eva R. Thompson

YADKINVILLE — Eva R. Thompson, 97, died Saturday (Nov. 11, 2000) at Yadkin Nursing Care.

She was born in Yadkin County, a daughter of the late Issac and Amanda Reavis. She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church in Davie County.

She was preceded in death by a son, James Harold Thompson.

Survivors include sons Roy Lee Thompson of Mocksville and Reavis Thompson of Yadkinville; a daughter, Betty Ward of Statesville; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Services: 3 p.m. Monday, Reavis Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. Dr. Tom Torpy. Burial in Gold Springs Family Cemetery.

Visitation: 7 to 8:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Memorials: Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27101.
