Faith, died Wednesday (Nov. 1, 2000) at Rowan Regional Medical
Center, Salisbury.

Kate Bost Bageant
KANNAPOLIS — Kate Geneva Bost
Bageant, 89, formerly of 906 Kimberly Lane, died Tuesday (Oct. 31,
2000)at NorthEast Medical Center, Concord, after a period of
declining health.
Born May 25, 1911, in Cabarrus
County, Mrs. Bageant was a daughter of the late Benjamin Franklin
and Jenny Linker Bost. A homemaker, she resided in Florida for many
years before returning to Kannapolis in 1994. She attended Franklin
Heights Baptist Church.
Her first husband, Ebbie Newell, died
in 1965, and her second husband,Gerald B. Bageant, died Aug. 19,
1991.
Survivors include nieces and nephews.
Services: 11 a.m. Thursday,

Entombment will be on a later date at Evergreen Cemetery,
Jacksonville, Fla.

Leona Bostian Barkley
LANDIS — The funeral will be
Thursday for Leona Bostian Barkley, 91, formerly of 410 S. Zion St.,
who died Tuesday (Oct. 31, 2000) at Five Oaks Nursing Center,
Kannapolis, after two years of declining health and two weeks of
serious illness.
Born April 9, 1909, in Davie County,
Mrs. Barkley was a daughter of the late Dan and Margaret Snider
Barnhardt. She was educated in the Davie County schools.
Retired from Cannon Mills, Plant 1,
No. 7 spinning room, she had also worked at Towel City Junction
Restaurant. She was a member of First United Methodist Church
Her husband, Ray Barkley, preceded
her in death.
Survivors include daughters Katheryn
Black, Bettye Black and Elizabeth “Doodle” Morgan, all of
Landis; sister O’Thella Connell, Landis; five grandchildren; 12
great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Services: 2 p.m. Thursday,

Mary Frances Busby
MOCKSVILLE — The funeral is today
for Mary Frances Richardson Smith Busby, 85, Oak Street, who died
Monday (Oct. 30, 2000)at Brian Center Health and Rehabilitation,
Salisbury.
Born Oct. 4, 1915, in Davie County,
Mrs. Busby was a daughter of the late Robert Wesley and Lettie Boyd
Richardson. She was a cook at C’s Barbecue for 24 years and was a
Baptist.
Her husband, Isaac W. Busby, died in
1971.
Survivors include son Morgan Earl
Smith, Mocksville; daughters Mary Jane Smith, Linwood, and Faye
Williams, Mocksville; brothers William, Clyde and Shirley
Richardson, all of Mocksville, and Bobby Richardson, Columbia, S.C.;
sisters Dorothy Smith, Welcome, Louise Swisher, Goldsboro, and Ann
Schiller and ELizabeth Cale, both of Norfolk, Va.; seven
grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Charlotte, was found dead Monday (Oct. 30, 2000)at his home.

Lindsay Maurice Helms
Lindsay Maurice Helms, 69, Salisbury,
died Tuesday (Oct. 31, 2000) at The Laurels of Salisbury.
Born Dec. 10, 1930, in Union County,
Mr. Helms, a son of the late Homer and Mamie Brooks Helms, was
educated at Granite Quarry High School.
He was employed with Pope Plumbing
for 12 years before becoming self-employed. He was a Baptist.
Survivors include sisters Gail H.
Austin, Concord, and Libby H. Hurley, Salisbury.
The body was cremated. A private
memorial service will be held Thursday at Evergreen Cremation
Services.
Catherine Kimrey Kesler
ALBEMARLE — The funeral was this
morning for Catherine Edna Kimrey Kesler, 87, 620 Heathwood Drive,
who died Monday (Oct. 30, 2000)at Forrest Oakes Healthcare Center.
Born May 16, 1913, in Stanly County,
Mrs. Kesler was a daughter of the late Will T. and Lizzie Calloway
Kimrey. A member of Albemarle Wesleyan Church, she retired from the
textile industry.
She was preceded in death by her
first husband, Bratton Huneycutt; her second husband, James N.
Roberts; and her third husband, Walter Fletcher Kesler. A son,
Carlos Edward Huneycutt, also preceded her in death.
Survivors include four grandchildren;
eight great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were held at 11
this morning at Greenwood Cemetery, Belmont. The Rev. Gary Hunsucker
officiated.

Born Nov. 12, 1940, in Cabarrus
County, Mrs. Taylor, a daughter of the late Mylo Boyden and Maxine
Rummage Roseman, was educated in the Rowan County schools. She was
formerly employed at Haleyville Drapery and was a member of
Christian Fellowship in Kannapolis.
Her husband, J.C. Taylor, died Jan.
11, 1999, and a daughter, Shelley Taylor, died July 6, 1979.

Linda Roseman Snipes, Judy Roseman Brammer and Debbie Basinger, all
