SuggieBean, 80, of Wadesboro, died Saturday (May 27, 2000) at the Harris
Hospice Unit of Presbyterian Hospital, Charlotte.
Born May 23, 1920, in Salisbury, Mrs. Bean was a daughter
of the late Edwin Burton and Florence McNeil Arey. Mrs. Bean was a member of First
Presbyterian Church, Wadesboro, and was a retired bookkeeper for Smith Electric Company.
Mrs. Beans husband, Eugene Holmes Bean Jr., died Oct.
16, 1982. Her daughter, Julia Ann Bean Johnson, died Aug. 39, 1996.
Survivors include son Alan Bean, Gastonia; daughters
Barbara Ridenhour, Wadesboro, Sandra Punky Ussery, Rockingham; and six
grandchildren.

Evelyn Wyrick Corriher
WHITE PLAINS, Ga. Evelyn Marie Wyrick Corriher, 74,
1190 Kimbrough Drive, died Saturday (May 27, 2000)at Minnie G. Boswell Memorial Hospital.
Born March 10, 1926, in Rowan County, she was a daughter of
the late Edward Lee and Annie Taylor Wyrick. She was a graduate of Salisbury High School
and was a member of Liberty United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Dermont
Corriher.
Survivors include daughter Niki Corriher, Alpharetta, Ga.;
sons Dennis Dermont and Joseph Michael Corriher, both of White Plains, Ga.; brothers Eddie
Lee Wyrick, Long Beach; and six grandchildren.

Evelyn Sophia Beaver Deal
ROCKWELL Evelyn Sophia Beaver Deal, 85, of the
Meadows of Rockwell died Saturday (May 27, 2000) at Bryan Center, Salisbury.
Born Nov. 27, 1914, in Rowan County, she was a daughter of
the late Jacob B. and Mary Essie Hill Beaver.
A graduate of Farm Life School, China Grove, Mrs. Deal
worked in the office of Cannon Mills. She worked at Nazareth Childrens Home and was
a dorm mother at Catawba College. She was a member of Mount Zion United Church of Christ
and the Lillie Rymer Circle.
Her husband, Herman E. Deal, died March 20, 1993.
She is survived by brother Charles B. Beaver, Kannapolis.
Services:11 a.m. Monday, Mount Zion United Church of
Christ, conducted by the Rev. William Campbell. Burial, Greenlawn Cemetery.

David Caldwell Euart
FAITH David Caldwell Euart, 79, 145 Pine Lake Drive,
died Saturday (May 27, 2000) at Rowan Regional Medical Center, Salisbury, after many years
of declining health and six months of serious illness.
Born June 11, 1920, in Rowan County, Mr. Euart was a son of
the late John Ramsey Euart and Lottie Viola Smith Euart. Mr. Euart retired in 1981 after
18 years with General Motors Corp., Charlotte.
Mr. Euart was a NASCAR driver since the early 1940s and was
a Grand National Champion with Carolina Racing Team during the 1950s. He was a U.S. Army
veteran of World War II, having served with the 7th Armed Division and having participated
in the Battle of the Bulge. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church and a member of the
American Legion Post, Faith.
Survivors include his wife, Minnie Jeannie
Rogers Euart; sons David R. Euart and Monte G. Baucom, both of Rockwell; daughter Vanessa
Euart Sterling, Salisbury; brothers Carl E. Euart and John R. Euart Jr., both of
Salisbury; sisters Louise E. Yost, Betty E. Truitt, Polly E. Webb, and Elsie E. Lomax, all
of Salisbury; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services: 2 p.m. Monday, Faith Baptist Church, conducted by
the Rev. Chuck Brawley. The body will be taken to the church 30 minutes before the

CONCORD Mary Ann Troutman Gibby, 65, 5709 Gold Hill
Road, died Saturday (May 27, 2000) at NorthEast Medical Center.
Born Nov. 12, 1934, in Cabarrus County, Mrs. Gibby was a
daughter of the late John and Ola Cauble Troutman. Mrs. Gibby was a member of Organ
Lutheran Church and worked at Willis Hosiery Mill.
Survivors include sons Allen Gibby, China Grove, Gary
Gibby, Rock Hill, S.C.; daughters Betty Barrier, Salisbury, and Sandra Perkins, Rockwell;
sister Evelyn Wright, Thomasville; and six grandchildren.

Fred Eugene Lambe
CHINA GROVE Fred Eugene Lambe, 53, 312 Blackwelder
St., died Saturday (May 27, 2000) at Rowan Regional Medical Center following an extended
illness.
Born Sept. 24, 1946, in Salisbury, he was a son of Mary
Hedrick Lambe, Salisbury, and the late John Malcolm Lambe.
A graduate of North Rowan High School, Mr. Lambe owned and
operated Freds One Stop. He was formerly a warehouse manager for Food Lion and a
truck driver for Star Freightliner and Schneider Freightliner.
Survivors, in addition to his mother, include his wife,
Deborah Holmes Lambe; son Michael Lambe, Salisbury; daughter Celeste Lewis, Salisbury;
stepdaughters Amy Camp, Florence, S.C., and Kara Camp, Tega Cay, S.C.; brothers John,
Ralph and Paul Lambe, all of Salisbury; sisters Ruth Fisher, Evelyn Jacobs and Louise
Nicholas, all of Salisbury; and four grandchildren.

Charles Wesley Lloyd
KANNAPOLIS Charles Wesley Lloyd, 79, 2311 West C
St., died Saturday (May 27, 2000)at Five Oaks Nursing Center, Concord.
Born July 19, 1920, in Rowan County, he was a son of the
late Charles Wright and Bessie Oakley Lloyd. Mr. Lloyd was a salesman for Public Service
Company of North Carolina for 20 years until his retirement in 1985. He was a member of
Bethpage United Methodist Church, Kannapolis, where he served as head usher and was active
in various phases of church activities.
A resident of Kannapolis most of his life he was a U.S.
Army veteran of World War II.
Mr. Lloyds son, Thomas Michael Lloyd, died in 1993.
Survivors include his wife, Eloise Drake Lloyd; brother
Wilson Lloyd, Spencer; sister Cornie McGhee, Spencer; four grandchildren and five
great-grandchildren.

Mabel Archer Sills
KANNAPOLIS Mabel Violet Archer Sills, 91, formerly
of Sides Avenue, died Thursday (May 25, 2000) at the home of a grandson and his family in
Stafford, Va., following several months of declining health.
Born June 5, 1908, in Rowan County, Mrs. Sills was a
daughter of the late Henry Onesimus and Barbara Isabella Wright Archer. Mrs. Sills retired
in 1982 from Cannon Mills in Kannapolis. She was a lifelong member of St. Johns
United Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her husband, N.B. Sills, who
died April 24, 1969, and a son, Nesbitt Beaurette Sills Jr.
Survivors include daughter Barbara Sills McDuffie, Palmyra,
Va.; eight grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Hoyle Matthew MattSperry, 51, 7260 Sherrills
Ford Road, died Friday (May 26, 2000) at Rowan Regional Medical Center.
Born Nov. 3, 1948, in Rowan County, Mr. Sperry was a son of
the late Isaac Wayne and Veva Staley Sperry. Mr. Sperry was a 1966 graduate of West Rowan
High School and attended Lenoir Rhyne College, Hickory. Employed as a machinist with Lane
Punch Company, he was a member of the Lane Punch Softball Team. Mr. Sperry was a member of
Christ the King Anglican Church.
Survivors include his wife, Kathy Williams Sperry, whom he
married Nov. 16, 1976; sons William E. BillySperry, Salisbury, and Richard
Michael MickeySperry, Moore, Okla.; stepson Clyde W. BuddyAycock
III, Salisbury; daughter Margaret Peggy Medlin, Charlotte; five grandchildren
and two step great-grandchildren.

ALBEMARLE Molly Louise Terry, 68, 709 North Third
St., died Friday (May 26, 2000) at Stanly Memorial Hospital.
Born July 3, 1931, in Albemarle, she was a daughter of the
late Troy B. and Gertie Ragsdale Idelle Terry. Ms. Terry was a box maker for Wiscassett
Hosiery Mill.

KERNERSVILLE Elevee Ammons Troxell, 76, formerly of
Salisbury, died Tuesday (May 23, 2000)at Wesley Long Hospital, Greensboro.
Born May 14, 1924, in Johnson City, Tenn., Mrs. Troxell was
a daughter of the late Alonzo and Lula Belle Payne Ammons. Educated in Rowan County
Schools, she was a homemaker and a Baptist.
Survivors include her husband, John Troxell, whom she
married Dec. 30, 1944; daughters Diane McDowell, Yadkinville, and Rebecca Troxell,
Kernersville; brother Bill Ammons, Ruidoso, N.M.; sister Lucille Davis, Mineral Bluff,
Ga.; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
