Howard Eugene Coggins
MOORESVILLE Howard Eugene Coggins, 69, Mooresville,
died Friday (May 5, 2000) at Lake Norman Regional Medical Center.
Retired from Transcontinental Gas and Pipe Line, he served
in the U.S. Navy and the N.C. National Guard.
Survivors include wife Betty Stafford Coggins; sons Robert
Bo Coggins, Mooresville, and Steven Coggins, Catawba; daughters Gail
Brotherton and Dawn Moose, both of Mooresville, and Sue Brackett, Concord; brother Banks
Coggins, Mount Mourne; sisters Mildred Corriher and Hazel McKay, both of Mooresville; and
three grandchildren.

MOORESVILLE _ Jesse Paul Carter, 79, Mooresville, died
Thursday (May 4, 2000) at his home.
Survivors include wife Lois Gross Carter; daughters Janna
C. West, Mooresville, and Terry C. Smith, Golston; brother Robert Carter, Mount Holly;
sisters Dorothy Warren and Thelma Gardner, both of Mooresville, and Nellie Campbell,
Cumberland, Md.; and two grandchildren.

Irene Blackburn Foster
MOCKSVILLE Irene Blackburn Foster, 81, U.S. 601
South, died Friday (May 5, 2000) at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center,
Winston-Salem, after a period of declining health.
Born July 21, 1918, in Wilkes County, Mrs. Foster was a
daughter of the late Lillian Victoria Wall and W.O. Blackburn. She was owner and operator
of the Cut N Curl salon in Cooleemee and a member of Unity Presbyterian Church,
Woodleaf.
Mrs. Foster was preceded in death by her husband, George
Wyatt Davis.
Survivors include son Tim Davis, Mocksville; daughter Vicki
Davis Josephson, Matthews; brothers Ralph Blackburn, Millers Creek, and Wade Blackburn,
Roaring River; sister Pauline Hogue, Winston-Salem; and three grandchildren.
Services: 8 p.m. Sunday, Eaton Funeral Chapel. Private
graveside service, Fork Baptist Church cemetery, at a later date.

Margaret Hagler
CHINA GROVE Margaret Miss
Bunny Julian Hendricks Hagler, 78, 838 Lillian St., died Friday (May 5, 2000) at
Autumn Care, Salisbury.
Born June 26, 1921, in Mocksville, she was the daughter of
the late Alma Boger and Roy Julian. She had retired from the weave room at Cannon Mills,
Plant 1. She was a member of Mount Carmel Freewill Baptist Church, Lexington.
She was preceded in death by sons Jerry Wayne Hendricks and
Ronald E. Hendricks.
Survivors include her husband, the Rev. Robert Hagler;
daughter Mrs. Tom (Phyllis) Fuller, Jamestown; stepchildren Bobbie Privette, Melvin
Hagler, Mickey Hagler, Ellen Wyatt, Richard Hagler, Linda Mann, Donna Cross and Barbara
Safrit; two grandsons; 23 step-grandchildren; and 34 step-great-granchildren.

Tricy Charles Jolly
MOORESVILLE Tricy Charles Jolly, 65, West McNeely
Avenue, died Thursday (May 4, 2000) at Lake Norman Regional Medical Center.
Born Jan. 31, 1935, in Iredell County, Mr. Jolly was a son
of the late Glenn and Grace Call Jolly. He was a graduate of Mitchell Community College
and Rowan Technical Institute.
He had retired in 1997 after 22 years in the maintenance
department at Lake Norman Regional Medical Center. A U.S. Air Force veteran, he was a
member of Centenary United Methodist Church, Mount Ulla, and Mooresville Rescue Squad. He
was a retired member of the Mooresville Fire Department.
Mr. Jolly was preceded in death by a son, Christopher Lee
Jolly.
Survivors include wife Myrtis Gray Jolly, whom he married
Nov. 24, 1962; son Charles L. Jolly, Mooresville; daughter Charlotte J. Sloop,
Mooresville; and three grandchildren.
Services: 2 p.m. Sunday, Centenary United Methodist Church,
Mount Ulla, conducted by the Rev. Robert Wiseman and the Rev. Marion Fulk. Burial, church
