Foursquare Road, died Wednesday (March 29, 2000) at her home.
Born Oct. 27, 1909, in Mecklenburg County, Mrs.
Wagner was a daughter of the late James Robert and Mary Reid Brown. She worked for more
than 40 years in Burlington Mills spinning department and later retired from
Chemspun Spinning Mills. She was a member of Community Foursquare Church.
She was preceded in death by son Kenneth Edward
Red Christie and daughter Virginia Catherine Mayhew.
Survivors include son James JimHoward
Christie Jr., Norfolk,Va.; brother Vernon Babe Brown, Mooresville; six
grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

Marie L. Witt
Marie L. Witt, 80, 917 W. Marsh St., died
Wednesday (March 29, 2000) at Rowan Regional Medical Center.
Born Dec. 19, 1919, in Baltimore,Mrs. Witt was a
daughter of the late Henry Turner and Survancie Torrence Lipscomb. A homemaker, she
graduated from J.C. Price High School and attended Livingstone College.
She was a member of Moores Chapel AMEZion
Church, where she was a class leader, a former member of the Senior Choir, and a member of
the Willing Workers Club and the Suzjette Smith Missionary Society.
Her husband, Homer J. Witt, died in 1984, and a
son, Henry E. Witt, died in 1988.
Survivors include sons Homer J. Witt Jr., Upper
Marboro, Md., and Gordon Witt, Salisbury; daughters Evelyn W. Phifer, Brenda W. Fleming
and Ann W. Knox, all of Salisbury; sister Inez Gilliam, Baltimore; 16 grandchildren; and
17 great-grandchildren.
