Ruth M. Barnhardt

KANNAPOLIS — Ruth Marshall Barnhardt, 80, 4777 Old Salisbury-Concord Road, died Saturday (March 25, 2000)at Concord Nursing Center.

Born Sept. 10, 1919, in Mooresville, Mrs. Barnhardt was a daughter of the late Mollie Hager and Stacy Marshall. Mrs. Barnhardt retired from Food Lion in Kannapolis and formerly worked at Cannon Mills Plant 4. She was a member of Mount Mitchell United Methodist Church and the Christian Faith Sunday School class.

Survivors include her husband, Toledo D. Barnhardt; daughter Sonjia B. McHone, Salisbury; son Larry Michael Barnhardt, of the home; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Services: 2 p.m. Monday, Mount Mitchell United Methodist Church, conducted by the Rev. David J. Duncan and the Rev. J. Marion Fulk. Burial, Carolina Memorial Park.

Visitation: 6-8 tonight, Lady’s Funeral Home. At other times the family will be at the residence.

Memorials: Mount Mitchell United Methodist Church, 6001 Old Salisbury-Concord Road, Kannapolis, N.C. 28083.

 

Dorcas Casper Mesimer

COOLEEMEE —Dorcas Casper Vogler Mesimer, 77, of Center Street died Saturday (March 25, 2000)at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home-Winston-Salem.

Born Aug. 7, 1922, in Rowan County, she was a daughter of the late Laura Bell Carter Casper Gales and Andrew Casper. A retired nurse’s assistant at the VAMedical Center in Salisbury, she was a member of Presbyterian Church, Cooleemee.

Mrs. Mesimer was preceded in death by her first husband, Clifford “Buddy” Vogler and second husband Walter Mesimer.

Survivors include son Scott Vogler Sr, Cooleemee; sisters Francis Miller, Cooleemee and Mary Louise Penley, Salisbury; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Services:2 p.m. Tuesday, Presbyterian Church, Cooleemee, conducted by the Rev. Robert Goforth. The body will be taken to the church 30 minutes prior to the service. Burial, Rowan Memorial Park, Salisbury.

Visitation: 7-9 p.m. Monday, Davie Funeral Service Chapel.

Lawson Allen Rankin Sr.

GREENSBORO — Lawson Allen Rankin Sr, 84, 4214 Starmount Drive, died Saturday (March 25, 2000)at Moses Cone Memorials Hospital.

Survivors include son David Rankin, Salisbury.

Services:11 a.m., Starmount Presbyterian Church. Masonic Burial, Lakeview Memorial Park.

Visitation: 7-8:30 p.m. Monday, Forbis &Dick Funeral Service, 1118 North Elm St.
