On Wednesday evening, Rowan County Sheriffs deputies responded to an armed robbery
at the Rushco convenience store, 2480 Highway 70.When
they arrived around 11:30 p.m., they were told that two men had entered the store wearing
masks, and one was showing a weapon.
The suspects pointed the weapon at the clerk and demanded
money.
When they left the store, they were seen getting into a
vehicle. Witnesses who saw the vehicle turned to follow and got the tag number.
Detectives G.I. Hinson and T.A. Swing followed up on the
suspect vehicle and arrested Albert Bryce Shelton, 21, 611 Hawkinstown Road, Salisbury,
and Archibald Dortu Wah, 20, 505 N. Salisbury Ave., Spencer.Each faces one count of armed
robbery.
Wednesday morning, Shelton was still in Rowan County Jail
under a secured bond of $50,000. Wah was placed under $50,000 unsecured bond and later
released to his parents.
