Wilbur T. BrinnBELHAVEN Wilbur T.
Brinn, 63, 1126 W. Pungo St., died Saturday (June 24, 2000) at Pitt County Memorial
Hospital, Greenville.
Born July 29, 1936, Mr. Brinn was a son of the late David
B. and Maggie K. Brinn. He retired as an owner and manager with Sears. He was a member of
Free Union Free Will Baptist Church, the Belhaven Masonic Lodge #509 AF and AM, the
Belhaven American Legion Post #249 and the Washington Moose Lodge #1800.
Survivors include wife Jean Sadler Brinn, whom he married
Feb. 5, 1956; daughter Denise B. Miller, Granite Quarry; sons Wilbur T. Brinn Jr.,
Zebulon, and Stephen J. Brinn, Bath; sisters Irene B. Dixon, Garner, and Linda B. Darden,
Washington, N.C.; brothers D. Frank Brinn, Jacksonville, N.C., and David W. Brinn,
Belhaven; and six grandchildren.
Services: Memorial, 4 p.m. today, Hillside Funeral Service
chapel, conducted by the Rev. Jerry Andrews, officiating. A private burial will follow at
a later date at Belhaven Community Cemetery.
Visitation: None. The family will receive friends at the
home on Pungo Street.

KANNAPOLIS Shirley Brown, 60, of Cannon Farm Road,
died Sunday (June 25, 2000)at Presbyterian Hospital, Charlotte.

Earl William Bill Currier
Earl William BillCurrier, 75, of Salisbury,
died Saturday (June 24, 2000) at his residence.
Born Aug. 23, 1924, in Hillsboro County, N.H., Mr. Currier
was a son of the late Edith Whitcomb and Moody Currier. A veteran of the U.S. Marines, he
was a retired self-employed lumberjack. He was of the Methodist faith.
Mr. Currier was preceded in death by his son, Gordon
Currier, who died in 1965.
Survivors include wife Helen Louise Trout Currier, of the
home; sons Bruce Currier, Peterborough, N.H., and David Currier, Front Royale, Va.;
daughter Allison Rowell, Weare, N.H.; sister Norma Nazer, Hancock, N.H.; 19 grandchildren;
and 12 great-grandchildren.

Foley
Carlton CarlLevingstone Foley, 66, formerly of
China Grove, died Sunday (June 25, 2000) at Avante of Concord Nursing Center, after nine
months of declining health.
Born July 6, 1933, in Glendale, Calif., Mr. Foley was
employed as an insurance agent with various companies for more than 30 years. He was a
member of Homeland Baptist Church, China Grove, and had been a devout Christian most of
his life. A veteran of the U.S. Air Force, Mr. Foley served from 1951 to 1955.
Survivors include his mother; two sons; one daughter; a
brother; and three grandchildren.

Carol Lyvonne Kelly
MOCKSVILLE Carol Lyvonne Cranfill Kelly, 49, of Deck
Circle, died Saturday (June 24, 2000)at Forsyth Medical Center.
Born Nov. 26, 1950, in Rowan County, Mrs. Kelly was a
daughter of the late Nellie Baity and Stacy Cranfill. She was a route carrier with the
Winston-Salem Journal for 15 years. She was a member of Turners Creek Baptist Church and
was active in the community.
Survivors include husband Steve Kelly, of the home; son
Steven Kelly, of the home; daughter Brandi Kelly, of the home; and brothers Dale, Elton
and Ron Cranfill, all of Mocksville.

KANNAPOLIS Effie Mullis, 88, 1119 Bethpage Road,
died Monday (June 26, 2000) at Concord Nursing Center.

Rev. Karl Monroe Park
The funeral will be held Tuesday for the Rev. Karl Monroe
Park, 75, 1500 Parkview Circle, who died Saturday (June 24, 2000) at Presbyterian
Hospital, Charlotte, after a weeks hospitalization.
Born June 30, 1924, in Gastonia, Rev. Park was a son of the
late Mary Ballentine and the Rev. George H.C. Park. A graduate of Chapin High School in
South Carolina, he attended Clemson University and received a bachelor degree from
Lenoir-Rhyne College, Hickory. He received his Master of Divinity Degree from Lutheran
Theological Southern Seminary in Columbia, S.C. He also received post-graduate studies at
Michigan State University.
The Rev. Park was ordained a Lutheran minister in June
1952. He pastored churches in Leesville and Lancaster, S.C., Murfeesboro, Tenn.,
Salisbury, Albemarle, Hendersonville and Lincolnton. He was an assistant archivist at the
N.C. Lutheran Synod and was past chairman of the Historical Work Committee for the N.C.
Lutheran Synod. He was a past member of the board of directors region 9 of the Historical
Work Committee at the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America (ELCA). He was a past member
of the Stewardship Committee at the N.C. Lutheran Synod and United Lutheran Church of
America (ULCA). He was a past director of the Lutheran Childrens Home in Salem, Va.
and the founding director of Lutheran Family Services at the N.C. Lutheran Synod.
The Rev. Park was a World War II veteran of the U.S.
Army-Air Force and was a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church of Salisbury. He was a
member of Civitan International since 1954 and held numerous offices in the local Civitan
Club. He was chaplain five times in the N.C. District West of the Civitan International.
and was also lieutenant governor of Area 1 West from 1982-1983 and governor of N.C.
District West from 1989-1990 in Civitan International.
Survivors include wife Miriam Horton Park, Salisbury; sons
Robert H. Park, Gastonia, and Karl Henry Park, Lincolnton; daughters Mary Jane Park, St.
Petersburg, Fla., and Terry Park Hannon, Alexandria, Va.; brothers Conrad B. Park and the
Rev. Harold F. Park, both of Chapin, S.C.; sister Rachel P. Laughlin, White Rock, S.C.;
and three grandchildren.
Services: 3 p.m. Tuesday, St. Johns Lutheran Church,
conducted by the Rev. Leonard Bolick, the Rev. John Tucker and the Rev. Jennifer Ginn.

Born Nov. 7, 1928, in Davie County, Mr. Seamon was a son of
the late Clyde Chalmer and Mary Jane Hendrix Seamon. He was a member of North Main Street
Church of Christ and was a retired from AT&T after 37 years of service.
Survivors include wife Catherine Boger Seamon, of the home;
