Alvin Arthur Custer

MOCKSVILLE — Alvin Arthur Custer, 86, formerly of Tennyson Road, died Sunday (June 4, 2000) at Forsyth Medical Center, Winston-Salem.

Born Aug. 17, 1913, in Cambria County, Pa., Mr. Custer was a son of the late Mary and Merrel Custer. He was a farmer and member of the Dairyman’s Association.

Survivors include wife Beatrice Coleman Custer; son Rodney Custer, Mocksville; daughters Marjorie C. Wall, Linda C. Parker, Sandra C. Potts, Jeanette C. Steelman and Gail C. Spry, all of Mocksville; stepsons Jack Nichols, Mocksville, and Kenneth and Dick Nichols, both of New York; stepdaughter Donna Whitaker, Mocksville; brothers Dave, Jew, Popeye and Guy Custer, all of New York; sisters Katherine Ousler and Minerva Brown, both of New York; 26 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

Services: 11 a.m. Tuesday, Eaton Funeral Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Darrell Cox. Burial, Rose Cemetery.

Visitation: 7-9 tonight at the funeral home.

 

Alvesia Edward Heater

Alvesia Edward Heater, 71, Salisbury, died Sunday (June 4, 2000) at Brian Center after a period of declining health.

Evergreen Cremation Services of Salisbury is in charge.

 

Michael Edward Pozyck

SPENCER — Michael Edward Pozyck, 53, 403 Seventh St., died Sunday (June 4, 2000) at Rowan Regional Medical Center, Salisbury.

Summersett Funeral Home, Salisbury, is in charge.

 

Beulah Jane Starnes

Beulah Jane Starnes, 80, Salisbury, died Monday (June 5, 2000) at Rowan Regional Medical Center.

Lyerly Funeral Home is in charge.

 

Everett Leslie White

CHINA GROVE — Everett Leslie White, 69, 5630 N.C. Highway 152 West, died Sunday (June 4, 2000) at NorthEast Medical Center, Concord.

Linn-Honeycutt Funeral Home, China Grove, is in charge.

 

Misty LeAnn Eagle

Misty LeAnn Eagle, 27, 1245 Steven Drive, died Sunday (June 4, 2000) at Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte.

Born Feb. 3, 1973, in Rowan County, Miss Eagle was a daughter of Vickie Shoaf and Roy “Sonny” Eagle Jr. of Salisbury

A graduate of the Rowan County schools and Rowan Technical College, she worked with the Rowan County Democratic Party.

In addition to her parents, survivors include brother James Allen Eagle, Linwood; paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. R.A. Eagle, Rockwell; and maternal grandparents, James Lee and Gwyndola Cook Shoaf, Salisbury.

Services: 2 p.m. Tuesday, Linn Honeycutt Funeral Home, China Grove, conducted by the Rev. Roger Dale Eagle and Kathy Eagle Patterson. Burial, West Lawn Memorial Park, China Grove.

Visitation: 7-8:30 tonight at the funeral home.

 

Deborah Ann Elder

HARRISBURG — Deborah Ann McKnight Elder, 52, 500 Valhalla Drive, died Sunday (June 4, 2000) at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center, Winston-Salem.

Linn-Honeycutt Funeral Home, China Grove is in charge.

 

Toby Foreman

ALBEMARLE — Toby Jean Foreman, 58, 28475 Canton Road, died Sunday (June 4, 2000) at her home.

Born June 23, 1941, in Stanly County, Mrs. Foreman was a daughter of Cline and Doris Bowers Burleson. She was a homemaker and attended Canton Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Edgar Frank Foreman; sons Timmy and Jeffrey Foreman, both of Albemarle; sister Elaine Furr, Albemarle; and three grandchildren.

Services: 2 p.m. Tuesday, Hartsell Funeral Home Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Gary Hunsucker. Burial, Silver Springs Baptist Church cemetery, Norwood.

Visitation: 7-9 tonight at the funeral home. At other times, the family will be at the home.

 

James Miller

MOCKSVILLE — James Doyle Miller, 48, Fairfield Road, died Sunday (June 4, 2000) at Davie County Hospital.

Born Aug. 26, 1951, in Rowan County, Mr. Miller was a son of the late Doyle J. and Patasy Gales Miller. He was a member of Dutchman Creek Baptist Church.

Survivors include brother Donald “Scottie” Miller, Mocksville, sister Shiela Miller, Mocksville, and half sister Patasy Lyerly, Raleigh.

Services: 2 p.m. Tuesday, Davie Funeral Service, conducted by the Rev. Thomas Tuggle. Burial, Dutchman Creek Baptist Church.

Visitation: 7-9 tonight at the funeral home.

 

‘Susie’ Beason Ramsey

SHELBY — Nell “Susie” Beason Ramsey, 83, 905 Lake Drive, died Thursday (June 1, 2000) at Cleveland Regional Medical Center.

She is the mother of Shirley Luckadoo of Salisbury.

The funeral was held Saturday at Cleveland Funeral Services, with burial in Cleveland Memorial Park.

Memorials: Trading Ford Baptist Church, 3600 Long Ferry Road, Salisbury, N.C. 28146.

 

Ada Lucille Roberson

Ada Lucille Powell Roberson, 74, Graham, formerly of Albemarle and Salisbury, died Sunday (June 4, 2000) at Twin Lakes Heath Center, Burlington. She had been in declining health 15 years and seriously ill a month.

Born Jan. 8, 1926, in Iredell County, Mrs. Roberson was a daughter of the late Maude Hayes and T. Frank Powell. She was educated in the Cooleemee and Davie County schools and was a member of Anderson Grove Baptist Church.

She had been employed as a waitress in Albemarle until her illness.

Her husband, J.T. Roberson, died March 12, 1983.

Survivors include brothers Kenneth and Herman Powell, both of Salisbury, and Gilmer Powell, Greensboro, and sisters Brownie Williams, Mocksville, and Hazel Thornburg, Graham.

Services: 2 p.m. Tuesday, Summersett Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. Ron Honeycutt, pastor of Anderson Grove Baptist Church.

Visitation: 7-8:30 tonight at the funeral home. The rest of the time, the family will be at the home of sister Brownie Williams at 541 Fairfield Road, Mocksville.
