William and Shari Graham will open their expansive new home on Crenshaw Court in December as part of Meals on Wheels’ largest fund-raiser this year.

“They are really committed to helping out the community any way that they can,” said Daryl Bruner, executive director for Meals on Wheels of Rowan.

Meal on Wheels plans to host its second annual “Home for the Holidays 2000” Dec. 9 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Dec. 10 from 1 to 5 p.m.

Last year, the event raised about $3,000. This year, organizers hope to raise $6,000 to $10,000, which would provide 2,000 to 3,500 meals for those who need them.

About a hundred volunteers will collaborate on efforts to staff the two-day event.

Tickets will be $10 per person and may be purchased at the door.

The home, one of Salisbury’s newest and largest, will be decorated for the holiday.

Shari Graham, who is a collector of Princess Diana artifacts, plans to display two of Diana’s dresses, along with other keepsakes.

“That’s a draw in itself,” Bruner said.

The dresses came from an auction held by Christie’s in New York City in June 1997. One is a mint green and cream horizontal striped dress that Diana wore to a film premiere and some official dinners. The other is a long cream and salmon-pink dinner dress that the princess wore to a state visit to Japan in 1986 and to the first night of “Swan Lake” at the London Coliseum in 1989.
