Beatrice Crisco Thompson
ALBEMARLE — Beatrice “Bea”Crisco Thompson, 68, 1240 Magnolia St., died Saturday (July 29, 2000) at her home.
Born Dec. 16, 1931, in Stanly County, she was a daughter of the late Martha Adaline Hinson and Leander Devotion Crisco. She had retired as a seamstess with D&H Apparel.
Survivors include husband James Franklin Thompson, Albemarle; daughter Cathy Thompson Bivens, Oakboro; a brother, the Rev. Jerry Crisco, Albemarle; sisters Opal C. Furr and Annie Lee Hartsell, both of Oakboro, and Cornell Mary Palmer, Albemarle; and a grandson.
Services:2 p.m. Monday, Hartsell Funeral Home-Albemarle. Burial, Fairview Memorial Park.
Visitation:6-8 tonight, at the funeral home. At other times the family will be at the residence.
Lawrence Andrew Durrette
The funeral will be Monday for Lawrence Andrew Durrette, 67, 355 Dukeville Road, who died Friday (July 28, 2000) at Rowan Regional Medical Center.
Born July 23, 1933, in Beaverdam, Va., Mr. Durrette was a son of the late Margaret Alice Gordon and Robert Theodore Durrette. Educated in the Beaverdam schools, he was employed with Fuchs Systems for 20 years before his retirement in 1999.
Mr. Durrette was a member of First Baptist Church of Spencer, where he was active in the Young Men’s Bible Class and was a former trustee. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean conflict.
Survivors include wife Barbara Turner Durrette; son Leland Andrew Durrette, Harrisburg; daughters Cheryl D. Jackson, Charlotte, and Sonja D. Barrett, Benton, N.Y.; brothers Robert T. Durrette Jr., Salisbury, Glenn Ralph Durrette, Richmond, Va., and Tarleton Bleece Durrette, King William, Va.; sisters Elouise Ancarrow, Richmond, Va., Zelma Haney, Fredericksburg, Va., and Pauline Mistro, Frankfort, Ill.; and five grandchildren.
Services: 11 a.m. Monday, Summersett Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. Franklin Myers, pastor, First Baptist Church of Spencer. Burial, Rowan Memorial Park.
Visitation: 3-5 today, at the funeral home.
Mary Eddleman Faggert
ROCKWELL — Mary Camilla Eddleman Faggert, 88, 11120 Old Concord Road, died Friday (July 28, 2000) at the Salisbury Lutheran Home.
Born April 27, 1912, in Rowan County, she was a daughter of the late Ella Electra Klutz and Calvin Agustus Eddleman. Educated in the Rowan County schools, she had retired from Sears, Roebuck &Co. She was a member of Ebenezer Lutheran Church.
Survivors include husband Caleb A. Faggert; sons Donald Faggert, Rockwell, and Earl Faggert, Winston-Salem; daughter Rebecca Shaw, Concord; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Services: 4 p.m. Monday, Ebenezer Lutheran Church, conducted by the Rev. C.P. Fisher. Burial, church cemetery.
Visitation: 7-8:30 tonight, Linn-Honeycutt Funeral Home, China Grove.

William H. Huddleston III
OAKBORO —William Henry “Billy”Huddleston III, 12, Williams Drive, died Friday (July 28, 2000) in Union County.
Born June 16, 1988, in Albemarle, he was the son of Rachel Taylor Huddleston, Oakboro, and William Henry “Billy” Huddleston Jr., Albemarle. He was a member of Congregational Christian Church, Albemarle.
Survivors, in addition to his parents, include sister Mindy Taylor, Oakboro; brother Scottie Taylor, Nashville, Tenn.; maternal grandparents Eddie and Ruby Bearden, Locust; and paternal grandmother Bessie Huddleston, Albemarle.
Services:4 p.m. Tuesday, Congregational Christian Church, conducted by the Rev. Dolan Talbert. Burial, Stanly Gardens of Memory, Albemarle.
Visitation:7-9 p.m. Monday, Hartsell Funeral Home-Albemarle. At other times the family will be at the home of his father at 517 Valley View Drive, Albemarle, and his mother, Rachel Huddleston, Williams Drive.
Thelma Morrison Long
Thelma Morrison Long, 84, formerly of 522 S. Caldwell St., died Friday (July 28, 2000)at Brightmoor Nursing Center after eight years of declining health and one day of serious illness.
Born May 22, 1916, in Stoney Point, she was a daughter of the late Carrie Morrison Wilson and Dump Morrison. Educated in the Stony Point schools, she was a domestic worker in Lexington before her health failed. She was a former member of First Calvary Baptist Church, Lexington.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dewey Long, and a daughter, Virginia Morrison Williams, who died in July 1999.
She is survived by two step-grandchildren.
Services: A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

Cheryl Pennington Love
KANNAPOLIS — Cheryl Leigh Pennington Love, 29, 6615 Charlie Walker Road, died Friday (July 28, 2000)at NorthEast Medical Center, Concord.
Born Dec. 1, 1970, in Rowan County, Mrs. Love was a daughter of the Rev. Glenn Pennington and JoAnn Barnhardt Pennington, both of Kannapolis. Retired due to disability from Fieldcrest Cannon, she was a member of Westside Freewill Baptist Church.
Survivors, in addition to her parents, include husband Michael D. Love; son Michael Dylan Love; daughter Miranda Leigh Poole; and sister Cynthia Marie Bailey, Kannapolis.
Services:2 p.m. Monday, Whitley’s Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. Red Parrish. Burial, Carolina Memorial Park.

Raymond Howard Milam
Raymond Howard Milam, 67, formerly of Eden, died Saturday (July 29, 2000)at the Hefner VA Medical Center.
Born April 15, 1933, in Cabarrus County, Mr. Milam was the son of Lillian Linker Milam Sechler, Kannapolis, and the late Howard Milam. Retired from Miller Brewing Co., Eden, he was a U.S. Navy veteran. He was a member of North Kannapolis Baptist Church.
His wife, Mary Lackey Milam, died March 7, 1998.
Survivors, in addition to his mother, include sons James Howard Milam, Atlanta, and Michael Shane Milam, Kannapolis; daughter Amy Denise Milam, Kannapolis; and three grandchildren.

Fred Leo Thompson
SPENCER — Fred Leo Thompson, 71, 1323 Queens Road, Charlotte, died Saturday (July 29, 2000)at Presbyterian Hospital, Charlotte, after an extended illness and two weeks of serious illness.
Born Sept. 26, 1928, in Spencer, Mr. Thompson was a son of the late Nora Edith Powell and Frank Leo Thompson. Educated in the Spencer schools, he graduated from Spencer High School and Salisbury Business College. He also attended Catawba College.
Employed in hotel and restaurant management, he had retired in 1979 as a hotel administrator. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean conflict and a member of Masonic Lodge 21 AF&AM in Washington, D.C.
Survivors include brother James E. “Eddie” Thompson, Spencer, and sister Ziemena T. Wire of Beaufort, S.C.

Durinda Kay Wingler
KANNAPOLIS — Durinda Kay Wingler, 53, 1109 Lane St., died Saturday (July 29, 2000)at NorthEast Medical Center, Concord.
Born Oct. 8, 1946, in Cabarrus County, she was a daughter of the late Cora Shue and Henry Thomas Blackwelder. She was a member of Freedom Full Gospel Church, Concord, where she was a greeter.
Survivors include husband Kenneth Wingler; daughters Alethea Morgan and Vickie Lewis, both of Kannapolis; sisters Pattie Blackwelder Fields, Greensboro, and Christine B. Yow, Concord; and four grandchildren.
Services:2 p.m. Monday, Freedom Full Gospel Church, Concord, conducted by the Rev. Kevin Lee Hartsell. The body will be taken to the church at 1:30. Burial, West Concord Cemetery, Concord.
Visitation:6-8 tonight, Whitley’s Funeral Home. At other times the family will be at the home of daughter Alethea Morgan, 4070 Sunrise Drive.
