Services: 3 p.m. Friday, McDowell Independent Presbyterian Church. The body will be placed in the church at 2:30. Burial, church cemetery.
Visitation: 7-9 p.m. Thursday,Sossoman Funeral Home. At other times the family will be at the home on Sundown Road.

CHURCHLAND — Ronald Lee Simmerson, 74, formerly of the Churchland community, died Monday (July 24, 2000) at Beverly Health Care, Thomasville.
Born Aug. 17, 1925, in Davidson County, Mr. Simmerson was a son of the late Robert Lee Simmerson and Bertha Lee Owens Simmerson Barnes.
Survivors include brother Samuel H. “Sam” Simmerson, Lexington; and sisters Reba Craven and Maxine LaCrouse, both of Churchland.
Services: 2 p.m. Thursday, Churchland Baptist Church cemetery, conducted by the Rev. Dr. Stephen Martin.
Visitation: None.
