In response to the July 18th letter to the editor by Mitzie Ketner, I’ve never read a more distasteful letter. In the first place, it is not likely that anyone chose to have Mitzie Ketner become a citizen of China Grove, much less have a “welcome basket” waiting for her arrival.

I also went to Farmer’s Day, enjoying and having a great time. Even though I’m not a citizen of China Grove, the town can be proud of Farmer’s Day. Mitzie Ketner can stay in Salisbury and perhaps they will let her run for town board there.
