Beaver, 25, 512 Safrit Road, died Tuesday (Jan. 4, 2000) in Rowan County from injuries
suffered in an automobile accident.
Born March 18, 1974, in Rowan County, Mr. Beaver
was a son of Eula Mae Morris Beaver and James William Jay Beaver, both of
Salisbury. A 1992 graduate of East Rowan High School, he was employed by HBD Industries.
He had formerly served with South Salisbury Fire
Department and Union Fire Department. He was a member of West Park Baptist Church.
Survivors include wife Angie Cullen Beaver, of the
home; son Matthew Williams Beaver, of the home; daughter Chastity Nicole Beaver, of the
home; and brothers David William Beaver, Salisbury, and Mark Allen Beaver, China Grove.
Services: 2:30 p.m. Sunday, West Park Baptist
Church, conducted by the Rev. Charles Carver, pastor. Firefighters will be seated in a
group at the service. Burial, church cemetery.
Visitation: 7-9 tonight, Linn-Honeycutt, China

Gabriel Shawn Gabe Eanes, 16,
Salisbury, died Wednesday (Jan. 5, 2000) at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center,
Winston-Salem, due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Born Jan. 31, 1983, in Rowan County, he was a son
of Vanessa Cline Eanes, of the home, and the late Ricky Douglas, who died Sept. 7, 1998. A
student at Henderson Independent High School, he was employed at the Shoe Show Warehouse
in Concord. He formerly attended Salisbury Foursquare Gospel Church.
Survivors, in addition to his mother, include
paternal grandparents Vernon and Virginia Eanes, Granite Quarry; maternal grandmother
Ramona Cline, Salisbury; brother Michael Reep, Salisbury; sister Allison Nicole Eanes, of
the home; and a niece, Lily Malia Eanes, who was raised in the home.

Rev. Clayborne King
The Rev. Clayborne Stanford King, 93, formerly of
Salisbury, died Wednesday (Jan. 5, 2000) at Bethany Lutheran Home, Dayton, Ohio, following
a brief illness.
Born July 18, 1906, in Durham, he was a son of the
late Emma Dodson and William S. King.
Educated in the Durham schools, he attended Wake
Forest College for one year before transferring to UNC-Chapel Hill, where he received his
bachelor of arts degree in education in 1929.
He taught high school in East Spencer and Spencer
for 13 years before becoming principal of Woodleaf schools from 1942 to 1945, when he
entered Lutheran Theological Seminary, Columbia, S.C. He received a bachelor of divinity
degree in 1949 and a master of divinity degree in 1971.
He served several Lutheran parishes, including
Grace and Messiah, Salisbury, St. Stephens and St. Johns, Lenoir, St. Luke, Catawba
County, Christ, Winston-Salem, and New Jerusalem, Lexington. In addition he was the
developer and first pastor of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Tampa, Fla.
He had retired from the active ministry in 1974.
His wife, Vivian Kester King, died Feb. 12, 1995.
Survivors include sons Carl S. King, Raleigh, and
Dr. William J. King, Dayton, Ohio; sisters Gertrude K. Humphrey, Garner, Edith K. Webb,
Lanette, Ala., and Ruth King, Raleigh; and three grandchildren.

conducted by the Rev. Mark Reed, pastor, Bethel Lutheran Church, and Bishop Leonard Bolick
of the North Carolina Lutheran Synod. Burial, church cemetery.

MOUNT ULLA Florence Fesperman Lipe, 96,
Genesis ElderCare, Salisbury, formerly of Lipe Road, died Friday (Jan. 7, 2000) at Rowan
Regional Medical Center, Salisbury.
Born Feb. 2, 1903, in Rowan County, Mrs. Lipe was
a daughter of the late Lucy and William J. Fesperman. She was a lifetime member of
Centenary United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the Mary Horton Sunday School
Class.
Her husband, Roy P. Lipe, and a daughter, Sara Lee
Crouch, preceded her in death.
Survivors include daughters Mrs. Jim (Frances)
Corriher and Mrs. Grey (Evelyn) Kerr, both of Mount Ulla, Mrs. Barrett (Ruby) Craig,
Landis and Mrs. Wayne (Myra) Heglar, Rockwell; 12 grandchildren; and 12
great-grandchildren.

George William Master Jr.
MOCKSVILLE George William Master Jr.,
77, formerly of Ijames Church Road, died Friday (Jan. 7, 2000) at Davie Place in
Mocksville after a period of declining health.
Born April 1, 1922, in Pittsburgh, Pa., Mr. Master
was a son of the late Helen and George W. Master. He was a sales engineer in electrical
circuit construction with Westinghouse.
A U.S. Army Air Force veteran of World War II, he
was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. He was a 32nd-degree Mason.
His wife, Mary Magdelin Vogel Master, died in
1987.
He is survived by a son, Ron Master, Mocksville.
The body will be cremated. A memorial service will
be held at a later date.

Born May 13, 1921, in Hartsville, S.C., Mr. Shaver
was a son of the late Margaret Johnson and Newton Shaver.
Educated in the public schools of Hartsville, he
was last employed in the housekeeping department of the Salisbury VA Medical Center and in
the maintenance department at Catawba College. A Baptist, he was a U.S. Army veteran of
World War II.
His wife, Dora Shaver, preceded him in death.
Survivors include brothers James Shaver,
Salisbury, and Albert Chavis, Newark, N.J.; and sister Cozy W. Davis, Salisbury.
