LEXINGTON Flossie Odell James Craver, 86,
formerly of Reedy Creek Road, died Sunday (Jan. 2, 2000) at Genesis ElderCare of
Salisbury.
Born March 21, 1913, in Forsyth County, Mrs.
Craver was a daughter of the late Joseph Franklin and Sadie Phelps James. She was a member
of Reedy Creek Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry
Franklin Craver, and sons Arthur Franklin Frank Craver, Robert Eugene Craver,
Billy Joe Craver and Bobby Allen Craver.
Survivors include sons James M. Craver, Tyro, and
Henry Harrison Craver, Lexington; sisters Ela Mae Fultz, Mary Rose Snyder and Kathlyn
Atkins, all of Winston-Salem; 23 grandchildren; 51 great-grandchildren; and three
great-great-grandchildren.

Mary Nantz Daniels Coone
MOORESVILLE Mary Kathleen Nantz Daniels
Coone, 79, Rinehardt Road, died Sunday (Jan., 2, 2000) at Genesis ElderCare, Mooresville.
Born Jan. 24, 1920, in Iredell County, Mrs. Coone
was a daughter of the late Clarence and Cora Pope Nantz. She had retired after 20 years in
the weave room at Burlington Industries, Mooresville. She was a member of West Corinth
Baptist Church.
Her husband, John Charlie Daniels, preceded her in
death.
Survivors include sons George Daniels, Davidson,
and Charlie Ray Daniels and Floyd P. Daniels, both of Mooresville; daughter Mrs. Johnny C.
(Christine)Wilson, Mooresville; brothers Oscar Nantz and Gray Nantz, both of Mooresville,
Jimmy Nantz, Rockwell, and Johnny Nantz, Mocksville; sisters Lois Williams and Elizabeth
Compton, both of Mooresville, and Mabel Leonard, Mocksville; six grandchildren; and 10
great-grandchildren.

Greer Neel Goodman Jr.
The funeral will be Wednesday for Greer Neel
Goodman Jr., 45, 1219 Rowan Mills Road, who died Sunday (Jan. 2, 2000) at his home after a
four-year battle with colon cancer.
Born Feb. 12, 1954, in Rowan County, Mr. Goodman
was a son of Greer Neel and Flo Starnes Goodman, Salisbury. A 1972 graduate of West Rowan
HighSchool, he was a self-employed licensed general contractor in business with his
father. He was also a real estate broker and had worked on hundreds of homes in Rowan
County.
He was a lifelong member of Salem Lutheran Church
and a member of Andrew Jackson Masonic Lodge 576 AF &AM. An accomplished Western
horseback rider, he won more than 500 first-place trophies in North Carolina, South
Carolina and Virginia.
A former member of District 6 Bass Club, he
enjoyed fishing his entire life. He was a member of Descendants of Point Lookout
POWOrganization and a former member of Salisbury Moose Lodge 900.
Survivors, in addition to his parents, include
wife Gwen Julian Goodman; son Travis Andrew Goodman, Salisbury; stepdaughter Mrs. David
(Joy)Peeler Lingle, Salisbury; and sister Susan Goodman Sides, Salisbury.

Born Feb. 10, 1976, in Rowan County, Mr. Hepler
was a son of David and Ruth Brown Hepler, both of Rockwell. A 1994 graduate of East Rowan
High School, he was a member of First Baptist Church, Rockwell.Employed by Homes by
Oakwood, he was a team leader in the electrical department.

wife Sonya Perry Hepler; daughter Haylee Jean Hepler, of the home; brother Jamie L.

Melton was a son of the late Parlie Jackson and Carthene Dockery Melton. He had retired
from Lexington Furniture.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara
Melton, and a daughter, Tiffany Louise Melton.

Born May 14, 1914, in Wilkes County, Mr. Moore was
a son of the late Jessie Edgar and Julia Johnson Moore. He had retired as a slubber
operator at Carolina Mills, Statesville.
A son, Wayne Moore, preceded him in death.

Born Aug. 10, 1922, in Charlotte, Mrs. Page was a
daughter of the late Howard Beckham and Martha Scotland Pharr Hilton. Educated in the
Concord schools, she had retired in 1984 after 20 years with Rowan Memorial Hospital. She
was a member of Enon Baptist Church and a former member of the Home Extension Club.
Her husband, Allen Glenn Page, died Sept. 28,
1999, and a son, Mark Allen Page, died in 1967.
Survivors include daughter Glenda Blankenship,
Billings, Mont.; sisters Linda Williams, Pineville, and Carolyn Parker, Greensboro, Ga.;
grandson Brian C. Blankenship, who grew up in the home; two other grandchildren; and three

WillRobert Powers, 16, Stillwater, formerly of Salisbury, N.C., died Friday

Born April 24, 1983, in Lawton, Mr. Powers was a
son of Robert S. Rob and Stacia A. McGuire Power, of the home. He was a former
student at West Rowan High School, Salisbury, N.C. Currently a student in Stillwater, he
also did carpenter work.

Opal Bradley Shinn, 88, 603 N. Main St., who died Saturday (Jan. 1, 2000) at the Manor
House, Concord.
Born March 23, 1911, in Hundred, W.Va., Mrs. Shinn
was a daughter of the late John Henry and Carrie Allen Bradley. She attended West Virginia
University and the University of Oklahoma.
She attended First United Methodist Church, where
she was in the Maye Shinn Circle. A charter member of the China Grove Womans Club,
she was also a member of the Pierian Book Club, the Rowan-Davie County Womans
Medical Auxiliary, the Salisbury Chapter of the AAUW and the Entante Bridge Club. She was
a former board member of the Rowan County Department of Social Services and a Cub Scout
den leader at First Methodist.
Her husband, Dr. G.C. Shinn, died Jan. 5, 1996.
Survivors include sons Dr. John D. Shinn, Los
Altos, Calif., and Robert A. Shinn, China Grove; daughter Catherine Jane Bost, Fremont,
Calif.; brother Dr. Robert Bradley, Lexington, Ky.; and seven grandchildren.

for Donald E. Wagstaff, 72, 310 Odell Drive, who died Sunday (Jan. 2, 2000) at Concord
Nursing Center.
Born Aug. 17, 1927, in Mecklenburg County, Mr.
Wagstaff was a son of the late James Alexander and Vertie Bright Roper Wagstaff. A
self-employed manufacturers representative for mens clothing, he formerly
owned several mens clothing stores in the area, including Hills Clothing
Stores in Concord and Charlotte; and Jones Clothing Store, Concord.
Wagstaff was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church,
Concord, and Allen-Graham Masonic Lodge 695. A former member of the Royal Oaks Optimist
Club, he had been a member of the Mens Apparel Club of North Carolina for 25 years.
Survivors include wife Pearl Watson Wagstaff; son
Donald E. Wagstaff Jr., Concord; brothers Melvin Wagstaff, Greenville, S.C., and Charles
