Randy Jay Coley

ALBEMARLE —

Born Oct. 8, 1958, in Stanly County, he was a son of Ruth Harris Morris, Albemarle, and the late John Benjamin “J.B.” Coley. A 1976 graduate of South Stanly High School, he was a former employee of N.C. Natural Gas Co. He was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church.

Survivors include wife Cynthia Huneycutt Coley; son Dexter Jay Coley, of the home; stepdaughter Christy Dianne Furr, Albemarle; brothers Ricky Coley, New London, Todd Tucker, Florence, S.C., and Bobby Tucker, Albemarle; and sisters Gail Troutman and Debbie Carriker, both of Albemarle.

Services: 2 p.m. Sunday, Bethlehem Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Lowell Brown and the Rev. Lonnie Gibson. The body will be taken to the church at 1:30 p.m. Burial, church cemetery.

Visitation: 7-9 tonight, Stanly Funeral Home.

 

Earlene B. Compton

CHINA GROVE — Earlene Bradberry Compton, 83, formerly of the Five Oaks community, China Grove, died Friday (Feb. 25, 2000) at the Brian Center, Salisbury.

Born April 28, 1916, in Elbert County, Ga., she was a daughter of the late Mattie Daniel and William Wallace Bradberry. A graduate of the University of Georgia, she had retired as a teacher at Enochville Elementary School. She was a member of Immanuel Presbyterian Church and N.C. Retired School Personnel.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Vance Compton.

Survivors include daughter Gail Bankett, Salisbury; one granddaughter; and one great-granddaughter.

Services: 3 p.m. Sunday, Immanuel Presbyterian Church, conducted by the Rev. Frank Collier. Burial, West Lawn Memorial Park.

Visitation: 7-8:30 tonight, Linn-Honeycutt Funeral Home, China Grove. At other times the family will be at the home of her daughter at 1010 Mainsail Road, Salisbury, where Mrs. Compton was making her home.

Juan Pablo Lara-Cordero

Juan Pablo Lara-Cordero, 265 Imperial Drive, died Wednesday (Feb. 23, 2000), the day of his birth, at Forsyth Memorial Hospital, Winston-Salem.

He was the son of Maria De Jesus Cordero-Salazar and Salvadore Arturo Lara-Delgado, both of Salisbury. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

Survivors, in addition to his parents, include maternal grandparents Jesus Cordero and Micaela Salazar, Salisbury; paternal grandmother Sophia Delgado, Landis; and paternal grandfather Salvadore Lara, Mexico City, Mexico.

Services: Graveside, 1:30 to\s3cvnday, City Memorial Park, conducted by the Rev. Thomas P. Clements of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

Visitation was to be held today at Summersett Funeral Home.

 

Margie Belle Vanhoy Efird

\s3cvnROCKWELL — Margie Belle Vanhoy Efird, 96, Rockwell, died Friday (Feb. 25, 2000) at Rowan Regional Medical Center, Salisbury.

Powles Funeral Home is in charge.

 

Ethel Basinger Harrington

CONCORD —Ethel Basinger Harrington, 84, Concord Nursing Center, died Thursday (Feb. 24, 2000) at the center after a lengthy illness.

Born May 18, 1915, in Rowan County, she was the daughter of the late Pearl Rogers Basinger Troutman and Harvey Basinger. She was a homemaker and a member of Midway United Methodist Church, where she was in the Willing Worker Sunday School Class.

Mrs. Harrington was preceded in death by her husband, Boyce M. Harrington, and a daughter.

Survivors include sisters Ruby B. Morgan, China Grove and Maude T. Dunn, Kannapolis; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Services: 2 p.m. Sunday, Midway United Methodist Church, Kannapolis, conducted by the Rev. Billy Rintz. Burial, Carolina Memorial Park, Kannapolis.

Visitation: 7-8:30 tonight, Whitley’s Funeral Home.

Myrtle Martin Seats

MOCKSVILLE —

Born April 2, 1909, in Davie County, she was a daughter of the late Annie Markland and William Martin. A homemaker, she was a member of Farmington United Methodist Church.

Survivors include sons John Wayne Seats and Phillip Martin Seats, both of Farmington; daughter Louise S. Callaway, Advance; brother Clyde Martin, Winston-Salem; 13 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Services: Graveside, 2 p.m. Sunday, Farmington Community Cemetery, Farminton, conducted by the Rev. Kenny Smith.

Visitation: 7-9 tonight, Eaton Funeral Home.

Odell Sisk

CLEVELAND — Odell Sisk, 55, Cleveland, died Friday (Feb. 25, 2000) at his residence.
