Albert Boger Sr.

MOCKSVILLE — Albert Denton Boger Sr., Milling Road, died Saturday (Feb. 12, 2000) at Forsyth Medical Center, Winston-Salem.

Born March 23, 1929, in Davie County, Mr. Boger was a son of the late Noah Albert and Nellie Dull Boger. The owner of Boger Auto Service in downtown Mocksville, he was a member of Mocksville Wesleyan Church.

Survivors include his wife, Pat Whitlock Boger; sons Denny Boger, Mocksville, and Randy Boger, North Palm Beach, Fla.; daughter Cindy Cuthrell, Mocksville; brothers Jack Boger, and Lester Boger, both of Mocksville, and James Boger, Morganton; sister Catherine Seamon, Mocksville; and two grandchildren.

Services: 2 p.m. Monday, Eaton Funeral Chapel, conducted by the Rev. David Shrum and the Rev. George Troyer. Burial, Rose Cemetery.

Visitation: 7-9 tonight, Eaton Funeral Home.

 

Louise Faulkenberry

ALBEMARLE — Louise E. Faulkenberry, 83, 218 N. Eighth St., died Friday (Feb. 11, 2000) at Carolinas Medical Center, Charlotte.

Born Oct. 11, 1916, in Davie County, Mrs. Faulkenberry was a daughter of the late John Franklin and Sadie Brown Everhardt and was a graduate of Catawba College. A retired teachers with the Stanly County SchoolSystem, Mrs. Faulkenberry was a member of First Baptist Church, the Eastern Star, Albemarle Chapter #71 and the N.C. Retired School Personnel.

Her husband, James Hoyle “Corky” Faulkenberry Jr., died Jan. 14, 1998.

Survivors include sons James F. Faulkenberry, Badin, and John Faulkenberry, Charlotte; daughters Ann Sherrill, Douglasville, Ga., and Jane Davidson, Charlotte; sister Polly Graham, Salisbury; and eight grandchildren.

Services: 11 a.m. Monday, First Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Harold McDonald. The body will be placed in the church at 10:30. Burial, Fairview Memorial Park.

Visitation: 7-9 tonight, Stanly Funeral Home.

Lillian Kirk Foutz

CHINAGROVE — Lillian Lucille Kirk Foutz, 78, 330 Darlington Dr., died Saturday (Feb. 12, 2000) at NorthEast Medical Center, Concord.

Born July 10, 1921, in Rowan County, Mrs. Foutz was a daughter of the late Gideon and Pauline Eddleman Kirk. She was educated in Rowan County Schools, retired from Fiber Industries and a member of Concordia Lutheran Church.

Her husband, Hoyt Foutz, died Dec. 11, 1985.

Survivors include daughter Pamela Jean Foutz Morris, China Grove; sister Loma Corriher, China Grove; two grandchildren and one great-grandchildren.

Services: Graveside, 1 p.m. Monday, Concordia Lutheran Church Cemetery, conducted by the Rev. Wayne Sipe.

 

Joseph Gillespie

Joseph Floyd “Joe” Gillespie, 86, Salisbury, died Friday (Feb. 11, 2000) at his residence following a period of declining health.

Born Nov. 9, 1913, in Rowan County, Mr. Gillespie was a son of the late James Floyd and Susan Mabel Cress Gillespie. Educated in Rowan County Schools, he retired from the furniture industry and was a former member of Thyatira Presbyterian Church.

His wife, Margie Beatrice Brown Gillespie, died in 1991 and his brother, Richard Gillespie, died Feb. 9, 2000.

Survivors include stepson Larry Hill, Salisbury; daughter Carolyn Walters, Greensboro; brother Clyde Melvin Gillespie, Salisbury; sister Lucy Profhet, Indian Trail; and one grandchild.

Services: Graveside, 3 p.m. today, Thyatira Presbyterian Church Cemetery, conducted by Dr. Stephen Moss, pastor.

Visitation: 1:30-2:30 p.m. today, Lyerly Funeral Home.

Teresa Annette Heun

ALBEMARLE—

Born March 1, 1963, in Chesterfield County, S.C., Mrs. Heun was a daughter of Fred Robert Raffaldt, Ansonville, and Nelly Loretta Melton Sims, Mount Croghan, S.C. A drawing hand at Wiscassett Mills, she attended First Assembly of God.

In addition to her parents, survivors include her husband, Charles Alan Heun; son Bobby Joe Richardson of Georgia; daughter Shannon Raffaldt Huneycutt, Stanfield; stepsons Charles A. Heun Jr., Max A. Heun and Jamie R. Heun, all of Albemarle; stepfather Thomas Edward Sims, Mount Croghan, S.C.; stepmother Mary Purvis Raffaldt, Ansonville; brothers Fredrick Russell Raffaldt, Gold Hill and Robert Maurice Raffaldt, Norwood; sisters Cynthia R. Holden, Chesterfield, S.C., Mary Ann Smith, Albemarle, Robin Scott, Mt. Gilead, Susan Catoe, Mount Croghan, S.C.; grandmother Ruby Paul Raffaldt, Chesterfield, S.C.; and two grandchildren.

Services: 11 a.m. Monday, Thompson Creek Baptist Church. Burial, Thompson Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, Chesterfield, S.C.

Visitation: 4-6 p.m. today, Harstell Funeral Home, Albemarle.

 

James Hinson

ALBEMARLE — James Sidney Hinson, 47, 16396 Tyson Road, died Saturday (Feb. 12, 2000) at his home.

Born Sept. 8, 1952, in Union County, Mr. Hinson was a son of the late James Stoy and Agnes Gertrude Thomas Hinson. He was a material handler for Charlotte Pipe, Plastic Division.

Survivors include his wife, Tammy Jo Austin Hinson; stepson Charles Anthony Swaringen, Albemarle; daughter April Michele Hinson, of the home; brother Mark Hinson, Marshville; and sisters Lola Ann Morton and Judy McClellan, both of Marshville, and Christine Branch, Oakboro.

Services: 11 a.m. Monday, Hartsell Funeral Home’s Lefler Memorial, conducted by the Rev. Dennis Helms. Burial, Silver Springs Baptist Church Cemetery, Norwood.

Gerald ‘Shorty’ Miller

LEXINGTON — Gerald Howard “Shorty” Miller, 70, 121 Goodluck Drive, died Friday (Feb. 11, 2000) in Lexington Memorial Hospital after a sudden illness.

Born Feb. 15, 1929, in Rowan County, Mr. Miller was a son of the late Fred and Reese Smith Miller. He retired as owner and operator of Shorty’s Self Service Grocery.

His sister, Margaret Miller Seamon, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara Pressly Miller; sons Tony Miller, Lexington, Randy Miller of the home, and Gerald Miller, Salisbury; brother Charles Miller, Salisbury; sisters Minnie Sue Messick, Woodleaf, and Janice Miller, Salisbury; and three grandchildren.

Services: 2 p.m. Monday, Freedom Missionary Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Noah Frye and the Rev. Clyde Akers. Burial, Forest Hill Memorial Park.

Visitation: 6-8 tonight, Davidson Funeral Home.
