Many thanks to all the Salisbury Post readers who contributed to this year’s Christmas Happiness Fund.
The $56,753.66 these generous people sent to the Post helped make this a more joyous season for children whose families struggle to provide for their basic needs. The Rowan County Department of Social Services distributed the money in the form of vouchers to qualifying families.
This year’s Christmas Happiness total didn’t reach the heights of previous years. Donors set an all-time record of $69,900 in 1996, and last year they gave $62,500.
But $56,753.66 goes a long way. Every penny is appreciated, every tribute is shared. Thank you for helping the Post carry on the Christmas Happiness tradition.
