The funeral will be Friday for Boyd Davis Ammons, 64, 316 Jackson Park Road, who died
Tuesday (April 4, 2000) at NorthEast Medical Center, Concord.
Born Feb. 7, 1936, in Marion County, S.C., Mr.
Ammons was a son of the late Boyd and Azalee Caulder Ammons. He had retired in 1998 after
46 years with Fieldcrest Cannon.
A member of Oak Grove Freewill Baptist Church for
35 years, he was a deacon and church treasurer.
Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Peggy L.
Ammons; daughter Mrs. Duane (Angela) Woodie, Rockwell; sisters Elnita Robinson,
Kannapolis, and Mrs. Ted (Peggy) Bowlin, China Grove; and three grandchildren.

Judy Long Bringle
The funeral will be Friday for Judy Long Bringle,
53, 800 E. Liberty St., who died Saturday (April 1, 2000) near Siler City in Chatham
County from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Born Oct. 25, 1946, in Salisbury, Mrs. Bringle was
a daughter of the late Clarence and Marjorie Ritchie Long. A 1964 graduate of Boyden High
School, she also graduated from Salisbury Business College.
Mrs. Bringle was secretary for Park Avenue and
Bethel United Methodist churches. She had also worked at First United Methodist
Churchs day-care center. She was a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church.
Survivors include husband, Roderick
Rod Bringle, whom she married June 20, 1970; daughters Jennifer Bringle, a
junior at N.C. State University, and Wendy Bringle, of the home; stepdaughter Dawn Morgan,
Kannapolis; brother Jerry Long, Salisbury; sister Mrs. Doug (Bonnie)Austin, Charlotte; and
two grandchildren.

Ken Dick Jr., 47, 335 Acorn Oaks Drive, who died Tuesday (April 4, 2000) at
Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center, Winston-Salem, from injuries sustained in
an industrial accident.
Born June 19, 1952, in Cabarrus County, Mr. Dick
was a son of Harold Kenneth Dick, Concord, and the late Mildred Powell Dick. He was a 1970
graduate of Northwest Cabarrus High School.
A member of Grace Lutheran Church, he was a
service technician at Duke Energys Buck Steam Plant.
Survivors, in addition to his father, include wife
Sandy Agee Dick; daughter Ashleigh Dick, of the home; and sisters Vickie Crow, Kannapolis,
and Brenda White, Concord.

Kennedy, 81, 8777 Old Salisbury Road, died Wednesday (April 5, 2000) at Rowan Regional
Medical Center, Salisbury.
Born Oct. 4, 1918, in Davidson County, Mrs.
Kennedy was a daughter of the late Alfred Onnie and Ollie Dorsett Moore.
She was a member of Smith Grove Baptist Church,
where she was active in the Ruth Sunday School Class. Retired fromNormans of
Salisbury, she had earlier worked for Manhattan Shirt Co.
Her husband, Carl R. Kennedy, preceded her in
death.
Survivors include daughters Beverly Dyson,
Linwood, and Dale Walser, Port St. Lucie, Fla.; son Tony Kennedy, Lexington; brother Ted
Moore, Spencer; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Norman Walter Lambert
MOUNT PLEASANT Norman Walter Lambert, 74,
30136 Bridge Road, died Tuesday (April 4, 2000) at Stanly Memorial Hospital, Albemarle.
Born Dec. 10, 1925, in Stanly County, Mr. Lambert
was a son of the late Noah Walter and Bertha Barbee Lambert. He had retired as a
typesetter at the Stanly News and Press, Albemarle.
A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served with the
military police during World War II. He attended Oak Grove United Methodist Church.
His wife, Joy Belle Hatley Lambert, preceded him
in death.
Survivors include daughter Brenda Burris, Mount
Pleasant; son Norman Darrell Lambert, Mount Pleasant; sister Ramelle L. Duke, Sanford;
brother Herman D. Lambert, Albemarle; and three grandchildren.

Beverly R. McClellan
Beverly Rockwell McClellan, 63, 465 Newport Drive,
died Wednesday (April 5, 2000) at her home after an illness of four months.
Born Feb. 16, 1937, in Uniontown, Pa., Mrs.
McClellan was a daughter of the late Earl Lewis and Gladys Pearle Childs Rockwell. A
graduate of Uniontown High School, she was employed by the Food Lion Credit Association.
In Salisbury, she was a member of Rowan Christian
Church and sang with the Salisbury-Rowan Community Chorus. A charter member of South Park
Christian Church, Charlotte, she sang with the Charlotte Oratorio Singers for 18 years
while a Charlotte resident.
Her first husband, Delmar L. Umbel, died Nov. 29,
1982, and her second husband, Thomas Locke McClellan, died April 5, 1999.
Survivors include son E. Bryan Umbel, Charlotte;
daughter Janine U. Wolter, Salisbury; stepsons Thomas Eric McClellan, Charlotte, and Alan
Jerome McClellan,Kannapolis; and one grandchild.

ALBEMARLE Otis Grant Wall, 80, 1220 Lennox
St., died Tuesday (April 4, 2000) at NorthEast Medical Center, Concord.
Born Dec. 24, 1919, in Stanly County, Mr. Wall was
a son of the late Marshall and Liza Jane Colson Wall. He was a graduate of Kingsville High
School and Harris Barber College, Raleigh.
A retired master barber, he had worked in
Albemarle and Norwood. He was a member of Union Chapel AMEZion Church and a former member
of the West Albemarle Elks Club.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Laura C.
Wall; sons Kenneth Wall and Lacester G. Crump, both of Albemarle; daughters Oranger C. and
Betina C. Davis, both of Albemarle, and Tammy C. Burch, Charlotte; brothers Pershing E.,
Cicel and Erskin Wall, all of Greensboro, and Leander Wall, Long Island, N.Y.; sister

Jewel Stutts Walton, 74, formerly of Oakwood Drive, who died Wednesday (April 5, 2000) at
Rowan Regional Medical Center, Salisbury, after an extended illness.
Born April 7, 1925, in Rowan County, Mrs. Walton
was a daughter of the late Herman Dewey and Alma Leach Stutts. She was educated in the
Spencer schools. A homemaker, she was a member of First Baptist Church of Spencer.
Her husband, George M. Walton, died Jan. 2, 1974.
Survivors include son George M.Walton Jr.,
Belmont; daughter Dinah W. Southard, Rock Hill, S.C.; sisters Nell Lyerly, Edna Shuping
and Mildred West, all of Salisbury; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
